One hypothesis is that since this is TCs whole life br became irrelevant to him when he credibly disconnected from this community. He can no longer serve TCs power agendas etc. For TC there is no friendship here, there is only power dynamics and transactional allies to serve his short- and midterm agendas while they are getting backstabbed in the longterm.
