I only assaulted Jim first, technically, but it was supposed to be like a joke like in the movies when the chick slaps the guy in the face because he did something wrong, like he called me mean names and was trying to get me to sleep with the taxi guy and I was just trying to say that’s not cool in a cute way. I didn’t know it would trigger memories and fight or fight responses and mistrust throughout the relationship. It was the alcohol’s fault.
