The biggest one yet: on a company trip, a female worker was told to come with a butt plug by her male supervisor. On that same trip, pictures of her vagina were passed around. After this trip, she killed herself.
sounds like something that would happen in some middle school
Not to victim blame.... but why'd she do it? Hypothetically speaking, if I had a supervisor, and my supervisor told me to come to work with a butt plug... I'd tell him to fuck off and make a complaint to HR.
There's only one example there. Usually when there is a lack of concrete examples.... it's BS.
IMHO I think cube crawls, getting drunk, and sexually harrassimg women can be fun, as long as it's done in moderation.
It is not that simple.
You should put yourself in their shoes.
Also, there are several pages of examples in the lawsuit, but I picked those that seemed most crazy.
Once a person is in that situation, they feel desperate, hopeless, and broken. They feel humiliated and afraid to do anything. Most people anyway.
It is not that a random male supervisor told a random female employee, she has clearly been groomed. It probably started small, but instilled terror, intimidation, and fear into her, which made her submissive. Once you get control over someone like that, it becomes hard for them to break away, because of the fear. They feel like their life is over: if they stay in the current situation; or if it becomes public because of the humiliation and they are probably afraid of consequences from their abuser.
You could say she is weak, but that's how most people are, I wouldn't say we can ignore them all.
And for a lot of people working at Blizzard is actually a dream job, which makes it even worse when it becomes a nightmare.
