I'm just not preoccupied with this, nor does it affect the passions I have for the things I do.

Yeah I get that, I was that way and likely will be again. Not sure if it's beneficial or not tho, I guess it doesn't matter either way in the end

See?  We agree. :)  If you're alive, live.

How soon do you expect to die?

These days the thought crosses my mind more frequently. I've done extensive research into death and from what I gather it isn't as bad as it seems. Still it's a scarry thing and we'll all certainly die.

As I'm writing this I'm soaking in the tub cause I've been suffering these stomach aches more frequently and the heat really helps. Aside from that these pains just might be of something that kills me.

I resumed watching Star Trek TNG so I've been seeing the entire cast from the 80's. I was a child when this show came out, started watching it in the 90's in my mid teens. The point is, seeing these actors now is pretty disrurbing, Patrick Stewart in particular. This man hasn't much time left.

Stomach aches? Have you been to see a dr about it?

Haven't been to the doctor. For the past 3 years or so it'll happen at random. The time before I was able to determine how drinking too much Orange juice will do it. This time I tried these jalapeño biscuits and it happened. Strangely I have no problem eating spicy foods. Also I never drank enough water yesterday.

The pain usually sticks around for most of the day whever it happens. If it goes on longer than a day I'll go to the ER.

What extensive research have you done?

Death. People who experienced dieing all say the same or similar things. The event itself is described as painless and peaceful. I observed deathbed footage and it was like going to sleep before the final breath. The last breaths seem to be heavy breathing like when we sleep. Possibly heavier. Also when we deep dive into the subject there isn't much to see whenever it comes to just death.

People who are dieing of some illness know it's time when it's about to happen. An old friend of mine watched his stepfather pass away. Stepfather's last words to him was "Well, it's time to go, thanks for being here bud".

Another guy I know, older guy said how watching his parents die was too horrible to describe. This guy in particular, he's a very insecure and petty little man, I don't associate with anymore, but anyone would agree with him on that, even though not everyone has been through witnessing a parent's death. I brought up his negative traits cause not everyone will handle death the same way.

I wonder if people often have children because of existential dread, if that somehow lessens it from a biological stand point.

People usually have children over selfish reasons, even if the child wasn't intended, which probably happens a lot.

When we're old we won't really be alone when we have children. Of course we'll need to have a good relationship with our offspring.

It's pretty clear that down the road we're overall happier whenever we have children, unless of course our children bring us misery for some reason, like if they are stupid and consistently bring us shame.

.

.

.

Personally I have other concerns when it comes to death. Very often the death of a parent will destroy entire families, because greed kicks in.

I don't have a proper beneficiary and when I think about it I'll probably rewrite my will. If we have a lot to pass on, we'll really want our legacy to go toward something or someone that pleases us. For example, if my will kicked in now, then it'll go toward, Starbucks, excessive partying, excessive spending, showing off, it will add to her eventual self destruction and modern day Liberalism.

Not only that, but there's the sense that beneficiaries can't wait for us to die. Never say who's included or who benefits from your death.

I think about death-and-dying all the time reflexively. It's basically just a tape loop of bullshit that plays in the background like, all the time, even during the good parts.

I think I have a low tolerance to this form of pain or something.

I've looked into the same things, they really don't.

When near-death you experience something akin to a DMT trip, and if you go in there with a set of expectations go figure that it might influence the trip.

Having a child for a semblance of immortality, is that inherently selfish to you?

When people say these kinds of things it gives me an avoidant vibe. It's those who aren't preoccupied with it that tend to respond closer to "I haven't really thought about it" before giving an extremely plebian conclusion.

You think about it in a suicidal way? Does fear of the unknown stop you from killing yourself? Do you not find any pleasure in living?

Yeah, in my experience DMT trips are quite suggestible. I'm not a very visual thinker and rarely get intense visuals but I've been able to see vaguely what I expected to each time.

I'm not convinced having a child at all is ethical, but procreation for self centred reasons (like psudo immortality) is inherently selfish, no?

Most people would like to avoid death, and seeing it's inevitable thinking about it seems like a logical extention of that avoidance. I'm not convinced it's ever possible to really accept mortality, there may be exceptions but again I'm not sure. What conclusions would you consider not plebian?

You failed to notice I'm talking about the process of dieing, and made no reference to ascention or any experience of another state of being.

As a reminder, I said the event, death, is a peaceful and painless experience, and with that people who experienced it say it was painless.

Sure, why wouldn't it be ?

People either wanted the child, or they ended up with one in the persuit of sexual pleasure. Both being selfish reasons. If it's right or wrong to be selfish in this case is beside the point.
