I have to forage dandelions to eat, And gather the harvest from wild fruit trees. There are days that i go without eating at all. Food has grown more and more expensive overtime. i can see some ways to get out if my situation a little but but i cant help but feel stuck. I have lived on almost nothing for years trying to save the bits of money that trickle my way. I will buy some basic land soon and make a small farm so i can carr for my family someday. i am also going to try my hand at stock. Wish me lucK.

Um... Aren't you on SSI?  And didn't you brag about scamming them for more money than you're supposed to be getting?  If you're living on dandelions, you may want to rethink your spending habits. lol

you clearly dont know anything about how ssi works. I am living on 750 a month and i am approved for food stamps but it never comes in the mail. due to covid i cant pick it up and tjey have resent the card 10+ times a d it never comes. No i dont brag about doing something for survival out of desperation. im eating dandelions because its the only way to save money so we can have enough to get out of this hole the system tries to trap me in and save enough scraps to crawl out. dony tell me how im wrong or how you tjink it works or actually works or should work or what your aunt sarahs situation is because you dont know shit about my life and im not going to explain it all.

I'm TC's legal representative.  For SSI.  In the same state as you. lol

$750 per month is the maximum if you're paying rent.  You're staying with family instead of paying rent.  Which means you should be getting just over $500, max.  But, as you once boasted, you're lying to them about your living situation to maximize payments.

While I agree that either way it's not really a livable sum, it is in fact more than you're meant to be getting, and more than the nothing it takes to live on dandelions and dumpster diving.  A life I'm versed in myself, and can also go into detail on, should you choose to exploit the justification.  If you want to talk about living on less than $60/month, boy have I got some stories for you.

That entirely aside, I lost my job due to Covid, and in the meantime, TC's payments, without lying about our rent situation, is enough to cover food costs.  And we're not even on food stamps, like you are.

You say the card has continually not shown up in the mail, but they only send the card once, at the beginning of enrollment, if you're not receiving payment in checks.  You've been on SSI for some time, as I understand, and receiving payments.  Unless you mean that your food stamps haven't shown up, in which case you have SSI money you could be using instead.  And if it's truly been ten times in a row, you're in for a sizeable backpay, which I imagine you know.

You also chose to move to Hawaii, giving up your rent-free situation to pay an overpriced rental fee for a literal fucking tent. That doesn't scream 'desperation' to me.  It screams poor financial management.

I don't doubt you're under the poverty line, and that it's stressful.  Many people here are.  But let's not roleplay that you're like some potato famine victim, dying on the roadside with grass stains around your lips.  You're hoarding SSI.  I've got no beef with that, it's sensible, and honestly, fuck their system.  But you're fine.  You have money, and a support network.  And you only made this thread to congratulate yourself on your victimhood.

Also, I wasn't aware that you find poverty shameful.  Why is that?

lol poverty isn’t shameful - competing to see who is/has been the biggest victim and shaming someone in the process is. Since you have previously admitted to not understanding nuance, I wasn’t referring to delora. She said in her OP she was trying to change her situation.

You clearly haven't read any of what I said.  I haven't even talked about my own financial situation.  I'm talking about Delora making it out as if she's worse off than she is for attention, and how I think she's mismanaging her resources.

Fyi if i were br,s legal rep mommy daddy house in a fancy rich people town would never let me hear the end if it.

"i live with my mommy and im ok so you must be to!"

Just as much projection as "my lady partner controls my finances cus im quirky and sub like dat UwU you must be like dat to!"

Is this a gendered issue to you?  What's so odd about the woman in the relationship being in charge of the finances?

So you don't think TC is a woman?

I'm talking about what Delora thinks.  I know your reading comprehension is not stellar, but please at least try to keep up with the sections you're replying to.

You really ate up MissComm "standing up for you", huh? Even though you didn't notice that she was calling both of us broke losers competing with eachother for the broke loser crown. XD

Yeah, to be honest, it's kinda weird that they keep assuming I'm poor and proud of it.  I said I manage your SSI, not that I'm on SSI myself. lol  But I guess it's convenient for the narrative.

but you were the only one who was comparing yourself to me at that point so it only applied to you???

Also, since you're into farming, you may want to look into the WWOOF program.  Part time volunteer work on organic farms in exchange for room and board.  That could potentially allow you to live comfortably, eliminate both rent and food costs, and still save your SSI payments.  It helped me out of some shitty situations in the past, I highly recommend it.

I could see Delora liking something like this actually.

i like how she knows so much about my life that she just cluelessly said exactly what im doing.

Its actually not. i have lived on very little a month before btw. Chill. This isnt a contest.

She's moreso correcting how poor you aren't, which is otherwise on topic with the OP.

She herself admitted im way below the poverty line

Based on how much SSI pays, aka the same money we use for food without using food stamps.

if you're not receiving payment in checks.  You've been on SSI for some time, as I understand, and receiving payments.  Unless you mean that your food stamps haven't shown up, in which case you have SSI money you could be using instead.

That goes to trying to becone self sufficient and crawl out if this hole.

Food's not that pricy if you go for stuff like noodles.

wrong.

$1.35 for a box of noodles.

Oh and what about  1.35 evrey day? plus sauce and veggied? shit adds up next rhing you know its a couple hundred fir food a month for two people

Then the rest of your money goes to food and utilities

How much have you been spending on utilities?

200$

until they discover you saved more than 2000$ and take it all away.

Don't save more than $2000..?

this is stupid, i just explained why that sucks. Km trying to escape the cycle sherlock

You also chose to move to Hawaii, giving up your rent-free situation to pay an overpriced rental fee for a literal fucking tent. That doesn't scream 'desperation' to me.  It screams poor financial management.

Wrong. We had to pay rent and news flash where we are going is cheaper and also provides some food. you clearly know nothing of my life.

She knows about SSI though.

Thats the kost bullshit random illogical- what does that have to do with how she is wrong here? also ssi is only hakf the picture. she dies not know about me or MY life.

Just knowing what's been posted on the website tends to be enough.

She displays being wrong about various basic parts of my life in this thread. Dont pretend she knows enough to be my life coadh.I di

Speaking of, doesn't SSI not want you to have more than $2000 in assets?

Exactly, rhwy want you to be stucl forever, but as your girlfriend says, stocking up is what you SHOULD do If you ever wanr ti ascame.

What's with your typing?

I dont live with mommy and daddy, i live in the real world and im sorry if living wirh mommy and daddy on ssi made things easier, but i dont have that. Not everyone is in tc land. Ssi without mommy snd daddy can be hard, and most dont make it when they fall throufh the cracks unless they find a way around things

$1.35.

Just learn to budget and you'd be doing alright. If you've saved over $2000 then you should be able to afford food and rent.

i do budget. Learn to read.

Oh and what about  1.35 evrey day?

Yeah, about $40.50 for the month. If you get bored of noodles you can swap to rice for a while.

plus sauce

About $1.00, with the option of variety.

So another $30.00 or so for the month.

and veggied?

Don't buy veggies for a while if you're trying to save money, or stick to cheap ones like Green Peppers ($0.78 each) and try to spread them out.

You could also grow your own if you were inclined that way.

Then the rest of your money goes to food and utilities

How much have you been spending on utilities?

200$

Do you keep a lot of lights on or something? Utilities can be pretty cheap.

until they discover you saved more than 2000$ and take it all away.

If you're able to save up $2000 then you're doing alright when it comes to day to day living, and if you're under $2000 then they can't take it away from you.

SSI is meant to be there to help you sustain yourself.

You also chose to move to Hawaii, giving up your rent-free situation to pay an overpriced rental fee for a literal fucking tent. That doesn't scream 'desperation' to me.  It screams poor financial management.

You could always explain the ways it's wrong instead of just proclaiming "YOU DON'T KNOW ME!" while aiming to be further unknown.

The defense gets weaker and weaker the more often it's used, especially if people do kinda have an idea of you.

If you were a good budgeter you wouldn't be in this mess. There's ways to save money and pay for your own food cheaply without having to eat flowers and dumpster dive, and if you're worried about the government taking money from you from being over their limit then you're doing well enough.
