So I reckon that you think some of the ideas advocated by the feminism, I suppose, are not going to fix the problem?

However,  it seems like there's no better alternative, for the moment?

Sorry what's the problem now ? Manspreading ? You know it isn't comfortable for a man to hold his legs together when we sit. By default our legs will spring open when seated. Is it gender pay gap again ?

Rape won't be solved by a movement, and it isn't just a feminist issue.

The rape count for women is less than 1 in 5 too. I saw the questions for it, and it asks about sexual assault while they weren't aware of it happening, or simply something sexual done to them while drunk on a dancefloor.

I'll say it again, Western Women are the most privileged human beings in the world.

Speaking as someone cursed with a decently sized penis and a somewhat lanky ballsack when not erect, it's really not that hard to cross your legs. I personally never got any flak for getting comfy, probably from how I release nonthreatening signals, but it's not that difficult to be cozy while not disturbing people.

Just don't do it in Japan, facing the bottoms of your feet at people's even ruder than Manspreading. In cases like those you can express common decency by just have your knees face inwards for leg angle.

Rape won't be solved by a movement, and it isn't just a feminist issue.

True, it's more of a problem for women than it is a problem for people as a whole, making it not a feminist issue but rather a femme one.

What is 'rape' to you?

This should be qualified first, as people tend to use it as if it had multiple definitions.

I'll say it again, Western Women are the most privileged human beings in the world.

I'd argue it's still men, but perhaps not US men when you compare their lives to those of heavier Patriarchy in other countries.

Saudi Arabia allows for Polygamy for example, but only up to four wives and they must all be equally cared for under Sharia Law (doesn't say they must be treated well, simply equally). There's also plenty of reported cases of going above four wives if they otherwise leave the church, and according to the bylaws anyway divorce cannot be committed by the wife unless the husband deems it 'mutual' (khul), while the husband simply has to declare talaq three times to make the divorce irreversible.

The 'natural order' as 8kun would go on about it is male privilege, as is how it's been handled across a disappointing amount of history.

Now I'm confused.

Looking at the thread, I thought you recognized that there's a problem, I asked for a solution to the problem, you said that the only solution to the problem that you can think of comes from within, and I said how about the solutions offered by feminism, and you asked me what the problem is?

To refresh your memory:

However, could we agree on at least one thing:

People, in general, tend to hire those that are more similar than dissimilar to themselves

...while recognizing, as a caveat, that there are other factors that play a role in the hiring process, general likability, and so on?
We might as well focus on this one, since we both recognize it, although there are others (otherwise we'll be going back-and-forth without making any progress). You can make it into a race problem, but you can also substitute the race with gender.

It's not a purely feminist idea, but the idea is fair representation at the top levels. While it may not be perfect, it seems like it's a better solution than the alternatives?

His solution is to ignore the problem, he just narrated that the solution is 'within ourselves' and that '-isms are inevitable'.

Him asking 'what's the problem' is hilariously self-demonstrating of his own rhetoric.

Nah, I said everything the feminist is fighting for is already in place and that western women are the most privileged human beings in the world.

You asked and I quote : "So I reckon that you think some of the ideas advocated by the feminism, I suppose, are not going to fix the problem?"

At this point in time some of their ideas successfully came into fruition, such as equality of opportunity. Some other ideas they have I think are nonsensical. Or downright funny. Like changing Father's Day into Special Person day, because it's inconsiderate of those who have no Father so instead children can celebrate their special person, but Mother's day can stay.

I understand not all feminists agree with everything that comes of feminism, but it's always self proclaimed feminists that come up with the darndest ideas, which is why I wouldn't call myself one.

lol. The artist won some national award in the UK for those chairs.

.

When I said the solution to their problem can be found within, I mean they need to stop having a victim mentality and stop worrying about what other women are doing with their career and relationships. They put too much importance in what they themselves aren't doing. They acquired a prejudice on masculine "natural" habits, that's not going to change, and personally I don't think they should tell us how to sit, then we're walking on eggshells trying to keep some feminists happy.

Rape is bipartisan between the genders, and most men really do intend to protect women, even if it's a woman they don't know. They only violence society won't intervene with, is a woman attacking a man.

Still rape is a concern among feminists ( and non feminists ), it's an endless war. No solution for that to date, but they are leaning toward the government for that.

It happens a lot, but there are still businesses with a diverse staff. If an applicant doesn't speak the same language then they probably won't get the job.

In general though, I honestly don't know. I've never been the only person of colour in a workspace. One of my construction jobs was mainly West Indian people but we also had some white people there. All men of course. There was 1 women that worked on the construction site for some other contractor. She had long blond hair and she always smiled under her hard hat. I do like having women around. Not sure what she did, I just saw her around while I was hauling ass.

I didn't mean that you should hire someone who does not speak your language. The question was meant to be more about similarities and dissimilarities.

So you would say you don't know if people, generally, prefer others who are more similar to themselves over people who are less similar?

I guess I'm not sure if I understand your view. If you dislike feminism, as a whole, because there are some feminists who behave like idiots, then can't I also say I dislike men, as a whole, because there are some men who behave like idiots?

Feminism, as an ideology, is centered around the idea of gender equality, and it seems like you have no beef with that?

Isn't this usually where the right makes some comment on muscle mass before calling you a pansy?
