So I reckon that you think some of the ideas advocated by the feminism, I suppose, are not going to fix the problem?
However, it seems like there's no better alternative, for the moment?
Sorry what's the problem now ?
?
Now I'm confused.
Looking at the thread, I thought you recognized that there's a problem, I asked for a solution to the problem, you said that the only solution to the problem that you can think of comes from within, and I said how about the solutions offered by feminism, and you asked me what the problem is?
Nah, I said everything the feminist is fighting for is already in place and that western women are the most privileged human beings in the world.
You asked and I quote : "So I reckon that you think some of the ideas advocated by the feminism, I suppose, are not going to fix the problem?"
At this point in time some of their ideas successfully came into fruition, such as equality of opportunity. Some other ideas they have I think are nonsensical. Or downright funny. Like changing Father's Day into Special Person day, because it's inconsiderate of those who have no Father so instead children can celebrate their special person, but Mother's day can stay.
I understand not all feminists agree with everything that comes of feminism, but it's always self proclaimed feminists that come up with the darndest ideas, which is why I wouldn't call myself one.
lol. The artist won some national award in the UK for those chairs.
.
When I said the solution to their problem can be found within, I mean they need to stop having a victim mentality and stop worrying about what other women are doing with their career and relationships. They put too much importance in what they themselves aren't doing. They acquired a prejudice on masculine "natural" habits, that's not going to change, and personally I don't think they should tell us how to sit, then we're walking on eggshells trying to keep some feminists happy.
Rape is bipartisan between the genders, and most men really do intend to protect women, even if it's a woman they don't know. They only violence society won't intervene with, is a woman attacking a man.
Still rape is a concern among feminists ( and non feminists ), it's an endless war. No solution for that to date, but they are leaning toward the government for that.
To refresh your memory:
People, in general, tend to hire those that are more similar than dissimilar to themselves
...while recognizing, as a caveat, that there are other factors that play a role in the hiring process, general likability, and so on?
We might as well focus on this one, since we both recognize it, although there are others (otherwise we'll be going back-and-forth without making any progress).
It happens a lot, but there are still businesses with a diverse staff. If an applicant doesn't speak the same language then they probably won't get the job.
In general though, I honestly don't know. I've never been the only person of colour in a workspace. One of my construction jobs was mainly West Indian people but we also had some white people there. All men of course. There was 1 women that worked on the construction site for some other contractor. She had long blond hair and she always smiled under her hard hat. I do like having women around. Not sure what she did, I just saw her around while I was hauling ass.
