Nature and a healthy brain has us be convinced of our reality.

Is being convinced a sign of knowing the truth, or being comfortable within our personal truths?

Depends on what those convictions are.

Case in point: How you and Spatial see each other.

I see Tony as a narcissist and someone legitimately too stupid to make deductive connections. He sees me as a a karate teacher from Oslo, Sweden. Who do you think is wrong.

I just want other people to read this shit and be confused whether it's part of the post or not.

What are those convictions dependent on?

He sees you the same way.

Their closeness to an objective reality that is out there despite people not believing in it.

So if their convictions happen to align with an objective reality that is beyond our reach yet existent, then their being convinced in following their personal truths with sheer conviction is the right path?

How is someone supposed to know if their perspective is the right one to be comfortable in, purely that a large number of people seem to fall under the same patterns?

That's just you endorsing group think, or a gamble that you seem convinced to have won in lieu of contrary evidence.

The cool thing about reaching a solid "truth" is that if you are right, people cant fight you on it. If you are wrong then the fight is worth discovering you are wrong. It is always about the truth.

Cheery bye!

It is not just about being sure its the truth. It about risking saying it is.

This perspective is a lot more humble and respectable than most on the notion of truth. You don't even deny that it's over consistency and practicality, and that if it were wrong you were taking a risk in saying that it was true.

Saying it's "a risk" means there's healthy levels of doubt, and that already puts your position in a much more mature seat.

I'd be willing to say most people place truth on consistency instead of practicality. The issue lies in what are they consistently seeing and if it is actually an objective observation or merely being seen consistently though mirroring their environment/structure. The biggest issue with truth is projection.

I am with you, even unto the end of the age

Like I said before, the truth is functional.

If we don't know the truth, that doesn't mean there isn't one.

Makes me think of the video where they ask an imbecile "which is heavier; a ton of steel, or ton of feathers?"

And he argues steel is heavier than feathers.

Just because you got the answer doesnt mean that despite clearly seeing what you see; the person will be accepting of the truth.

Some people are either too dumb, or completely distrusting of any ideas outside of thier head.

People will fight truths with lies until blue in the face when ego is at stake.

Some people aren't born to be blessed with tragedy in their blood.
