Doesn't necessarily prove the puppet is him, but it would prove that the guy is real and a part of her past. While this could be an unconvincing parody of him (if not someone else from her life that fit the bill) and while it proves none of her backstory's claim it is something tangible.

I wouldn't even need to see it myself for me to believe that you saw the connection, as you aren't the one really being questioned but rather are another observer just like we are (albeit with more investment and contextual knowledge).
