Direct me to tech help

This is fairly simple but I’m a boomer when it comes to tech stuff I swear.

im on iPhone.

so whenever I’m watching stuff on my phone it would be nice if the phone could recognize I’m watching something, and not give me all the notifications that pop up at the top of the screen.

I don’t want to turn them off, I just want it to wait till I’ve exited the app to do those kind of notifications.

but then I still want to be able to receive calls and texts regularly during the video.

Not sure it’s possible without jail breaking but, would be nice.

No "do not disturb" function eh ? Tsk tsk. Maybe you'll find it in the pull down tab.

Maybe see if you can find an app with the do not disturb feature. That app might even have a timer so if you forget to release the option, it'll go back to bugging you when you command it to.

google chrome notifications in notification center on iMac

i use google chrome on my desktop computer (an iMac) which is synchronized with the desktop to give me notifications on there.

safari and other like notifications that are related to apple and your apps/devices etc, they pop up in the right hand corner for a second and then go away. and you can access to see them again if you want, in a long notification list sort of side bar thing that you can open and close that swooshes in from the right hand side, and then closes away to hide when you click it again. i like this. (just like notification center on iphone basically)

but for google chrome notifications they pop up in the right hand corner, just like the standard notifications do on an iMac, but then they won't GO AWAY. they should dissapear off into the side bar notification center list thing. aka, hide themselves after a second of appearing in the right hand corner.

but instead they just stack up in the right hand side completely cluttering it up and i have to click "close" on each notification individually after it pops up to get it to go away.

i want it to just automatically hide itself after a second or two, not lastingly like, stay on my desktop just chilling there forever.

tumblr themes

hard to get a seemless tumblr theme that isn't laggy or glitchy and slow, and that doesn't look janky.

Hello, I am back again with more tech complaints.

Spotify has updated their program and now it is lagging my entire desktop. I'm on an iMac. It also looks kind of terrible, the platform itself now. I want it back to the way it was. I wouldn't be mad if the program itself wasn't laggy, glitchy and slow compared to the old version. Please tell me how to revert it back.

Something similar has also happened to tumblr and it is laggy and glitchy on all devices, including desktop but it works best on Chrome. (Most things work better on chrome for some reason, youtube is faster, facebook, etc. it's weird.) Compared to safari.

But anyway, I wish companies would focus on efficiency and not force their users to update.

There's even been problems with some of Apple's OS's in the past, though they do work to correct them rather quickly. There was a period of time in 2020 where the update was so bad that even the starbucks drive through cashiers were telling me about it like, "Have you got the new update? Omg, don't do it, it's so bad. It crashes etc."

It's like, c'mon, we pay for these services. you know? We pay a lot of money for the good quality platforms and then they go switching up on us (with exception to tumblr being free.)

Also I don't like the way Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, most streaming apps make it difficult to see the full arsenal of entertainment you can watch. Like, I don't want to see just the front page of what you're pushing me to watch. Wtf? I want to look through all of what's available. And I also am not able to see my watch history with ease on the platform, which is odd to me. I do like that "add to my watch later list" features though on Amazon Prime and Netflix.

These are just areas I would improve if I were responsible for improving these apps.

By the way if you haven't heard of it there is a new streaming service called Peacock which is free. It's great option for anyone who just doesn't want to pay the streaming fees. I'm glad people can still get to watch movies, they just have to put up with commercial breaks. I think they most likely don't have Netflix, Apple, and Amazon Prime exclusives however.

Tumblr reblog options stays on the blog you chose on ipad and mobile, but on desktop you have to keep re-selecting the blog you want the reblog to direct to, as it constantly defaults back to your main. Also, you should be allowed to change which blog is your main. Bye.

Pinterest recently added "star" feature after taking away the ability to hoard "likes" for years. Not only does it clutter up the feed but I have no idea where these "starred" posts even go, as I have no idea how to access my "starred" posts. What was the point of taking away likes only to introduce stars.

They also updated their "organization" feature, so now when I click organize posts, it takes me first to a series of options on organization- and then you have to click off that page to get to your posts and actually start organizing them. I don't like this. I like it the way it was. Also, in order to organize posts on ipad or mobile, it takes you to a smaller version of your pins, instead of just flipping through your board as it was- like the way it is on desktop. I hate this.

Instagram should allow a tab where you can quickly look through your liked posts on your profile, similar to the "saved" posts tab. It should be right next to it.
