No "do not disturb" function eh ? Tsk tsk. Maybe you'll find it in the pull down tab.
Maybe see if you can find an app with the do not disturb feature. That app might even have a timer so if you forget to release the option, it'll go back to bugging you when you command it to.
oh it has do not disturb feature but it only works when you turn screen off, aka lock phone.
i wish it had that but for when phone is on

On Galaxy Devices, the Do not Disturb mode will basically prevent sounds and notifications and pop up notifications from making noise and appearing on screen. It also works when the screen is off. I only use it when screen recording, I don't care if I get notifications while doing anything.
You know, it's possible for Apple to give you the goods, but they want to keep their device minimalistic and simple.
Well for me when i put it on silent it’s just silent but motifs still display on screen including pop ups.... and on the Lock Screen
Do not disturb only stops notifs when the screen is locked which is annoying
I just wish it had a feature that recognizes when ur watching videos and it can like not give you all notifications during that and obvi the feature could be completely customizable and quickly toggled on and off.
You can do it actually. And you can set a timer too just in case you forget to shut off this mode.
- In settings page toggle it on.
- Select "Always"
As you can see there are 2 options, "While Phone is locked" and "Always"
"Always" means you can enjoy doing whatever you do on the device while all notifications will be set aside for you to check later.
This is fairly simple but I’m a boomer when it comes to tech stuff I swear.

so whenever I’m watching stuff on my phone it would be nice if the phone could recognize I’m watching something, and not give me all the notifications that pop up at the top of the screen.
I don’t want to turn them off, I just want it to wait till I’ve exited the app to do those kind of notifications.
but then I still want to be able to receive calls and texts regularly during the video.
Not sure it’s possible without jail breaking but, would be nice.
If you are watching something and don't want notification turn it off. Notifications are supposed to grab your attention because they are supposed to be important enough for you to go see what is going on.
