Power supply (PSU) got fried. Everything else will be fine, or at least a PC would be in that situation of yours.

With Mac it's by design set up to require a specialist take care of it for you, both for the classic warranty void that follows opening the computer yourself and with their parts being less easy to work with.

It's by design meant to be just user friendly enough to make bank on people who can't be assed to learn how to fix it themselves, much like what we're seeing the modern car becoming. It's how they can justify achieving the benefits of a monopoly without technically being one, much like their branding on different ports to render their usage more exclusive.

I'd argue that people are better off with a Mac emulator than a Mac.

VM ware Hackintosh on PC hardware, sure.

While I'm on lockdown i might aswell build one for the sport of it. I have an AMD Phenom build collecting dust here.

As for Apple, I don't like the prices, and they aren't as fun, nor are they anymore outstanding at what they do in comparison. Digital is digital.

Though I don't really know how to use OSX I know it's easier. If Apple makes people happy and processes their work and play, that's fine.

Can iOS apps run on OSX ? Or will I need an iPhone to access them ?

Oh for some reason it wouldn't turn on for a while but I got my iMac to turn back on so it's not fried like I thought. I guess it was just an auto-protection mechanism or something I don't know. It wouldn't turn back on for quite a while.

TLDR: it works now.

Still, this is your daily reminder to buy a surge protector. Don't be dumb.

Oh right, my old iMac did this too. It's a built in surge protector so that continued jolts won't kill it, like a failsafe. I think one of my gaming consoles did this as well. Edit: The Wii did something like this too.

There's usually either a timer or some sort of trick to get it to turn back on.

Don't be dumb.

PC Master Race.
