Michael Kors Wanderlust Eau de Parfum

Initially smells lemony and fresh. Then quickly turns sweet floral. I smell jasmine. Reminds me a lot of Gucci bloom Nettare di Fiori, except I can smell the pepper

Smells very sweet floral after 5 min. Very jasmine. Very similar to the Gucci bloom Nettare di Fiori.

10 min, I detect some Sandalwood now.

30 min Over all I am not impressed. If you have ever tried alien by mugler or Gucci Bloom Nettare di Fiori there is no reason to try wanderlust by Michael Kors. There is nothing unique. Smells good, but it's boring.

Overall it's not a bad scent, just unexciting since I've been wearing scents so similar lately. I will revisit this one later.
The sweet florals are nice. Soft and comforting to round out the edges if you're feeling a little down

Yves Saint Laurent Opium Eau de Toilette 1977 Original formulation

Immediately spicey, powdery, woody. Smells vaguely like old-lady bath powder jasmine. Mostly wood notes in the dry down
Jk smells very old lady perfume, but that's prob cuz this is the perfume all the scent of their generation was influenced by.
I smell a lot of sandalwood and incense. There are so many notes blended together in this, it is honestly hard to pick them apart when smelling

*next day:*

Ahh fuck I forgot to keep notes at the time, but basically it dries down very cinnamon and myrrh, absolutely amazing. Deff one of my favs. I don't love the opening tbh but It becomes so warm and spicy and resinous and woody. I love it. 8/10 This is a vintage bottle from the 90s so I altho I like it, ultimately I will try not to waste it and only wear it when the mood really hits.

Before it becomes warmer out I am doing to do a side by side comparison of the 2009 and the 1977 formulas. My guess at this point is that the reason they changed it was just to modernize it. Keep the soul of the perfume if you will, but tweak it to modern popular  scent preferences.

 Lancome Tresor EDP

First spray super powdery
Old ladies would love this
I smells something like... soft peanut butter? Something nutty very floral.

Not sure what I think of this. I can imagine going to a friend's grandparent's house and their bathroom being scented like this

It's been 35 minutes. Miraculously as always alice and I have opposite opinions lol. I hate it but she likes it. Idk man. Something about this reminds me of used peanut frying oil. All the fragrance notes are fruits, florals, and woods so I'm not sure what is up but i am just not feeling this one. I'm ready to exchange it and wait 6 more weeks to get a replacement. I am very disappointed, I was actually really looking forward to trying this perfume. Notes of peach and Sandalwood sounded lovely.

Probably the worst perfume I have tried yet. Been a little over an hour, and I have a mild headache from it. 1/10 I will try this one more time in the future just in case, but I don't think I will be keeping this.

This is random but i dont like it when the liquid is dark like it looks like whiskey. I have no idea why but i find myself gravitating toward perfumes that are more clear or pretty colors, mainly pink.

Truly have no idea why. But, I’ll make exceptions of course but... only for the iconic babies

Dark perfumes used to be from when perfumes were made from real deer musk and ambergris. Deer musk is dark reddish brown and is now illegal because the species is endangered,  synthetic musks are clear. Ambergris which gives a grayish brownish hue is also extremely hard to find now that sperm whales are endangered, and synthetic Ambroxan, which is also clear, has taken its place. Dark browns in perfume are mostly just food coloring now, which can be seen at the end of the ingredient list.
