Now, sit and ask yourself- how many of you cried when Kenny died in South Park numerous times? Nobody! Because he wasn't human.
>>> I did, tbh. It was just too much and as the youngest in my family, it reminded me of my childhood. :s
So, when you inflict harm on a feller SC-er, or watch it happen to somebody else- it's hard to feel bad for them for the same reason- they were a written up persona and that lack of humanity, an uncanny valley persay- made it very hard to feel any empathy and thus, we fail to comprehend the full human before our eyes due to the script they concocted.>>> I disagree. If you've been around for awhile, you'll see there's often a form of social justice at play. One can only kick another (or the forum in general) so hard and for so long before the tides turn against them. How one handles being kicked and the role they played in becoming the forum football also comes into play. The only people who got a raw deal here imo, were Xena, and possibly Luna, but Luna didn't do herself any favours by trying the whole dictator schtick in a community of independently minded people.
>>> Looking for empathy on a sociopath forum is misguided. It's not cos it doesn't exist, but more because it won't come easily or loudly.
Theory of mind; which is the knowledge of other people as a sentient feeling with their own unique processes- is therefore voided in the wake of this percieved inhumanity and henceforth, the insatiable slugfests; user on user, man on man and man on women in a vicious fight to the top of the chain..... are almost seen as..... fun.>>> cos it is fun, esp. if you don't take it seriously and see if for the lulz. It can escalate though, which is why you need to be careful who you get close to. For many getting close to others is part of a game and you will be betrayed.
>>>The idea that there is a 'top of the food chain' says a lot about your struggles here.
And as long as everybody keeps up their scripts and continues the repetitive self-flanderization that simulates inhumanity that need not be empathized with- that shall be the nature of this place. >>> Who are you trying to convince? You don't have to come here. You choose to. And you're not the first ego-hurt visitor that can't stop him/herself from trying to change SC from being a cesspit. You do it, just like they did, cause your ego was affected and you can't let it go. Maybe this is the first place where people told you to your face how they perceive you and it bothers you. Ya, that sucks. You can take it as feedback to think about or keep whining against it. As we are all aware, SC is no stranger to the internet bloodsports seen so prevalently in this information era. The flames of drama give light and heat to this forlorn corner; a blood supply preserving the life of a community that only thrives in hypertension, and quickly fades in hypotension. This dependancy on drama keeps the wheel turning, but only due to what this online setting allows as a consequense of its nature. Apply the same penchant for beligerance to any physical adult setting excluding a prison yard, and you get a situation that is unstable and apt to fall apart at any time. Keep in mind that I say adult setting because this type of dog eat dog dramafest DOES occur quite often in child settings, namely a mostly female high school cafeteria table.
I think that perhaps, SC (and alike websites) are the perfect petri dish for this kind of sentiment and environment to cultivate. Both for what users are able to view of themselves and of others. Now in real life we are likely a quite complex, perhaps even embattled person. But, nuance is boring and thus, we throw it out the window and subconsciously (or consciously) select the traits we want to have on full display and convienently cut out what we do not want simply because we CAN. We do not know these people that well, we put in our little cartoon character-esque avatars onto our little square boxes, we use false handles, we are in a sense, more in control or our identity online than we are of our real life ones. So we put these elements together- the exhaggerated character traits, and avatars, the handles- and at that point we may as well be on the cast of an adult swim cartoon.....
and that's EXACTLY what others will see as well. Now, sit and ask yourself- how many of you cried when Kenny died in South Park numerous times? Nobody! Because he wasn't human. He was scripted by a writer to be outlandish, insane, and humorous. And SC users, are much like scriptwriters for their own personal characters themselves. So, when you inflict harm on a feller SC-er, or watch it happen to somebody else- it's hard to feel bad for them for the same reason- they were a written up persona and that lack of humanity, an uncanny valley persay- made it very hard to feel any empathy and thus, we fail to comprehend the full human before our eyes due to the script they concocted. I love how it not only still talks about me and attempts to project its fugly autistic wife onto me (and failing as usual because it never sticks) while I've literally moved accross the country and am dating an ex of mine and getting along with him better than we did when we were before while having completely devalued this website and get less and less impulse to pay it any attention as each day passes XD
really sad this autistic sperg needs to seek mental help badly for its obsessions

I'm sorry if you took offense. This was not a biased attack this was my observation.
Maybe this is the first place where people told you to your face how they perceive you and it bothers you.
Knowing about the high school he graduated from, I'd be very surprised if none of them told him how they perceive him.
It's very leftist-PC there, but that's never stopped anyone from falling into pituitary honesty and moments of passion.

He's spent a lot of time justifying to himself why things happen as they do, but I wouldn't call that urge a choice.

Oh, I've been through it all. Everyone clearly had mixed opinions, as my academic excellence and commentary in intellectual discussion made them respect me but my controversial political views and use of logic backing them up made them annoyed by me. I have had some open haters though, but also people who really liked me. I was my own entity.
