someone's sexuality has nothing to do with culture.
Their sexual orientation is independent of it, but their sexuality is another story.

there are churches who accept gay people, you need to chill the fuck out.

They aren't real Christians (they're better, but they're inauthentic all the same).

I don't understand why they don't just find or found a new religion that's cool with it instead of trying to change historical texts into how they'd prefer it read.

If I study to become a police officer, I can't just ignore the rules and laws within that without being a bad cop.

They're supposed to turn the other cheek (and subsequently let people be damned), but the thoughts are otherwise still there, all elitist-like.

 exactly.

so turn the other cheek and please try to be a little more respectful of other human beings and their rights... to their own opinions. dude.

If it's okay for Christians to be gay, then why is it not okay for Christians to judge people?

Both people in this case are ignoring a single Christian doctrine.

no I normally wouldn't be this abrasive but she came at me hardcore and if she has the right to be so abrasively expressing her very rude opinions thwarting them out, then she, is asking for that kind of backlash and I have the right to be just as open and forward about my thoughts and opinions here.

I'm not punishing anyone though, I'm just expressing what I think and feel about this topic. same as she did, about my sexuality.

Moral good according to who, "The Collective"?

Depends what you mean by collective.

"The Will of the People".

Human people? Our best interest is in line with following God since he can do anything for us. Think of it as a bribe but a good kind. Oh wait, that's called a reward.... Heaven

Overall it is for the good of the entire universe as God is all wise.

No, it's only for His own idea of good, and I believe it was from your holy texts, not mine, that Wisdom has been construed to be meaningless (in Ecclesiastes)?

Ecclesiastes 1:14: “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.” The key phrase is under the sun, which is repeated throughout the book. Solomon is sharing an earth-bound perspective. He is only considering life “under the sun”; that is, a human life lived to the exclusion of any consideration of God. From that godless perspective, everything is indeed “meaningless.” Without God, human wisdom is meaningless (2:14–16); labor (2:18–23); amassing things (2:26); life itself (3:18–22); competition (4:4); selfish overwork (4:7–8); power and authority (4:16); greed (5:10); wealth and accolades (6:1–2); and perfunctory religion (8:10–14).

God commends the spiritually wise.

That's the big picture. Following God is not at odds with personal happiness either.

Why should the big picture matter to small people?

Lol

There's a common quote in church "The chief end of man is to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever".

...yet he doesn't want you to follow him in the name of salvation or it's prizes, just sheer obedience.

Fucking slave religions man, they're designed so that you never feel like you're doing a good enough job unless your head's up your own ass.

Sheer love. Love is fun and is the ultimate happiness.

He's eternally wise, creative, and potent.

Timelessness is very different from being merely eternal, and from the looks of things God's sense of "creativity" is heavily dwarfed by Satan's.

Compare Christian Rock to Death Metal and you'll see what I mean.

God and Satan sometimes want the same thing but different outcomes. God wants a good outcome with you. The devil wants you to suffer with him.

Not all rock I listen to is Christian. Some is romance rock.

The difference is sin brings fleeting highs of pleasure but God brings happiness. God and happiness go hand in hand.

Happiness can come from way more things than just God's path.

Not the kind of happiness that is regardless of circumstance. Lasting inner peace.

well there ya go then.

in the Bible it says don't point out the plank in someone else's eye, when you have a steak in your own. (meaning, a larger plank).

so, if you want to follow the Bible so literally, then what you are doing goes against your own religion feathers. by judging me, by pointing fingers at me and talking about homosexuals as if they're horrible people.

in your eyes, we are all gods people. so stop treating us differently. that's all we ask.

Did she make this topic exclusively about you?

I'm just as gay as you are, and I don't feel personally offended. It's not her fault that she thinks this way, it's the fault of a religion that's centuries older than either of us that's otherwise inducted and shaped her impressionable little mind.

and if she has the right to be so abrasively expressing her very rude opinions thwarting them out, then she, is asking for that kind of backlash and I have the right to be just as open and forward about my thoughts and opinions here.

True, but you could also try to be accurate.

I'm not punishing anyone though, I'm just expressing what I think and feel about this topic.

It's only not punishment because she's not taking it as such.

same as she did, about my sexuality.

She's discussing it expressly through a philosophical path though, you're just airing out how offended you are.

That verse is widely misquoted btw. Usually quoted by non Christians.

Matthew 7:1-2 Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

It just means not to be a hypocrite. We will judged by our own standards imposed on others on top of God's.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge the righteous judgment.

Matthew 7:16-17 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
