Harry Potters
I concur with Primal about the Xanth series. A lot of the ones already mentioned in this thread are pretty good.
Anything by H.P. Lovecraft
Hellbound Hearts (Clive Barker)
Mister B. Gone (Clive Barker)
Dune (all of Frank Herbert's original series, plus his son's Butlerian Jihad series)
The Black Company (series, Glen Cook)
Hitchhiker's Guide (series, Douglas Adams)
Dirk Gently (series, Douglas Adams)
Old Man's War (John Scalzi)
Ghost Brigades (John Scalzi)
I've read a huge chunk of the many Dragonlance novels, plus the Wheel of Time series.
Hugs TPG
The books you are reading are not exactly entertainment ....post a list of yours
I've read a huge chunk of the many Dragonlance novels
Damn...those too ....lol...and Harry Potter ( hangs head in shame, the book was a gift)
...and Scientology books, Buddhism, Taoism, Quran,.....bunch of religious books....curiosity sake...LDS/ Moron...that is hilarious after you read the bible and then read up on the 'founder'...endless..
My suggestions for TPG:
Catcher in the Rye. JD Salinger. For that time in high school when you hate all the phonies (normies) out there, feel like living like a high roller and getting a hooker.
Geek Love, Katherine Dunn. Not about two geek lovers. A circus freak family with the help of amphetamine, arsenic and radioisotopes breed their own exhibit of human oddities.
For now.
Read Catcher. If you can stomach those, some time in the future try:
Secret History, Donna Taart. The freak clique at a liberal arts school plot to kill their friend in a night of a drunken orgy and try to cover it up. Also, first one by the author of American Psycho—Less Than Zero, Bret Easton Ellis.
