I can't be fucked to read this thread entire thread. So forgive me if I have missed something.

If you want someone to get banned because of their age, good luck. People claiming to be under 18 frequent this site, and nothing happens.
From what I skimmed, TC won't do anything unless he's "sure" they're underage. Meaning not only nothing will ever happen about people like TPG or FireMeetsIce, but also truthfully no one can be sure what their ages are. And so TC will not ban them, because, as he says, people can lie on the Internet, and we cannot be certain as to the validity of things. Now I think TC is bending technicalities a bit for his own entertainment. I mean, if you say you're 16, you're breaking the "one rule," seems a good reason for a ban. TC says we cannot know that is the case. I don't disagree with his actions, they have nothing to do with me. But that's what that is all about.
People come here of their own volition. To complain people are getting "taken advantage of" is kind of insane when you're on sociopath-community.com. You can lie and say you're an elder (FMI did that with a photo editor). How will you know how old someone is? Without concrete evidence, you don't know shit. Again, the "one rule" is for legal protection, and I've not seen one person care that (possibly) 16-year-olds signed up.
Without concrete evidence of him breaking the rule, he should not be banned indeed, because if he is, then simply claiming that you are underage gets you banned, not that you actually are. And if you can't claim this, then you are taking away from the freedom to bullshit on this site and without that freedom, what is the point of this site?
I do not disagree. I wrote that drunk, so being sober now, I will be more clear. The "one rule" is a legal disclaimer. And like I've said, I've not seen people care about underage persons signing up. Maybe there are some in the thread here. I skimmed the thread because this issue does not concern me, but I noted a point of contention, so I spoke of the relation of age and moderation on this site in an overall fashion, because it seemed unclear, and we have new members.
If I remember correctly, Smithforce was doxed, his age was up, mods did not ban him from the site. I believe Luna was active on the forum at this time while Smith's shit was plastered all over the place, and there was plenty of cause to believe he was a minor (even proof? I ignored the ordeal, so I'm not sure). That was a topic in chat and threads for days (maybe up to a week?), so I am pretty sure Luna was aware.
But Luna wouldn't give a fuck (plus she'd already delegated moderation to TC so she didn't have to catch shit), neither would TC give a fuck. The specific reason I said I think TC may bend technicalities for his own entertainment, is because it seems to me like something he would enjoy doing, and that seems like what he did during all the drama about Smith. I also further said, I don't disagree with him doing that, if that's the case. It doesn't matter to me who comes here.
That was an example of how the "one rule" is just a legal disclaimer that got tossed up on the top of the site, not an actual rule, and the general consensus is people don't mind if 14-year-olds come here.
There was concern raised about influence and pedophilia. There is no way to control these things even if kids did get banned, in which case they'd probably just find a way to come back if they wanted, unless they were too stupid to figure out how. Or they could just browse the site regardless of being banned. But if they found this site, chances are, they'd be able to figure out how to circumvent a ban. As for pedophilia, pedophiles are all over the internet. Most "grooming" probably happens on games that kids play, like Minecraft. The medium is not to blame. The parents are, for not paying attention or educating themselves (or just being plain stupid).
