I've always had a thing for Rogue. She was the first "power absorber" and the dearest, setting the template. Aside the broad application and sheer magnitude of her power potential, it was also wonderfully amenable to generating its own story arcs from it.
She definitely stretches the strength of Megamanning/the Blue Mage power set:

Well yeah, she's used as an anti-hero and an anti-villain with truely self-serving motivations. She's like the Blackarachnia from Beast Wars with significantly more charm and actual reasons to be a good person every so often (when it involves herself anyway).
My favourite Marvel characters were ones with more ambiguous capabilities, like when Bobby Drake began to show more capabilities than he had before.
Omega level mutants tend to have limitless capabilities from how they can treat reality more like a canvas. It's characters like Pyro with notable weaknesses built into their power sets that I tend to enjoy more (can't make his own fire).
Charles Xavier in a mirror universe as a villain would be a great angle. His compulsion abilities in a ruthless man of his intellect could make for a seductive antagonist.
I brought that up lightly in another topic. Closest to that is X-Men Noir, a version of The X-Men where they have no super powers, but instead are a bunch of Sociopaths that Xavier, a psychologist that's doubted by his peers and is intense enough about it to the point of criminal offense, has gathered to become the next stage of humanity. Magneto and his crew meanwhile are with the Police.

I know fractions of a million things, but a lot of it's not retained completely fleshed out. With just enough to know what to look up, Google makes me look more impressive than my half-baked and somewhat scattered self actually is. I tend to just have things jump to mind when things jog them, but almost everything jogs something.
I also had a friend who was much more into comics than I was, and I'd often listen to his long rants about comic storylines before being drawn into reading them myself.
I just have to ask at this point, who do you think I'd be from the xmen or comics characters?
I dunno... Cyclops maybe?
