Or... it could have been a parable about a long past relative who surmounted incredible odds through his faith in a higher being and how YOU should have that same faith when your situation is far less bleak...

My current endeavors have me studying deep into the doctrine of Calvinistic Theology. As a Christian perspective of philosophy I find more validity in the Calvinist way of thinking than others... after you throw-out the basic circular argument. What I find most interesting is the thought of total depravity of human kind with limited atonement found through G-d's grace. This means there are only a few "elect" which are chosen as His people to enter into His kingdom for His glory. All other's are destined to perish, die, and go to hell... but, they are created to do so in order for His "elect" to see the greater glory and adhere to His calling. How can a just and loving God create souls just to be destroyed? And what would these tainted souls look like?
Enter, sociopathy/psychopathy... God created everything to include evil and it is the sociopath/psychopath who is G-d's "Hand of Wrath". All for His Glory.

Cain and Able were the first and 2nd born of Adam and Even, and Cain killed Able. Sociopathy is not exactly a requirement to do something like that. They weren't in Eden at the time, but I'd reckon the conditions they lived in might have been a bit harsh considering the population.

For more detail on that, You have to read The Book of Enoch, which is a book that was removed from the Christian version of the Holy Bible.
Enoch is Cain's son, and he's mentioned very few times in the Christian version. Why was the Book of Enoch removed ? It could be along the same reasons Christianity creates and bows down to statues and idols against God's request.

For me it's not about Faith. We have an intuition when we collect this information. We just have to question what we're doing in conjunction to what we've been told. If all we rely on is Faith, then we can end up being mislead like all those people who believe in Benny Hin, or people who end up in Churches that encourage people the more money they give 'them', the more blessed they are. I really do think there is spiritual warfare going on in this world.

Enoch was Noah's great great Father. Noah's Father is Lamech.

Enoch is mentioned in Genesis 4.
You should buy it, because every man mentioned in the book of Genesis, their lifespans were recorded. And they lived hundreds of years. Except Enoch, God took him at 65, but his son Methuselah lived 969 years, and he's in the book of Genesis too.
