This is probably a layman's type of question, but since numbers are a symbolic representation of some sort of unit, is not the number play only bringing into focus the dysfunction of objectifying subjectivity? Are things ACTUALLY discrete or only so for our conceptual necessity? Is the comprehension of infinity and/or a continuum made impossible by the finite capacity of the theorist?
(The end of that video does touch on this, I believe.)
That probably made no sense, but perhaps I'll think of a better way to ask... I am genuinely curious.

Yes.

We build systems to measure the things around us. If our (homo sapiens') perceptual apparatus were different, our systems of measurement would be too. Imagine living underwater as a marine mammal with echolocation as your language and also your system of measurement. You know our belief systems and social structures would be unrecognizable to the creatures we are now.
Is the comprehension of infinity and/or a continuum made impossible by the finite capacity of the theorist?
Yes. But we do the best we can with the tools we have.

It made perfect sense. :)
