Now I am all for revenge even knowing it continues the loop of violence, also I am not very compassionate by nature. But I'm not a typical Scand when it comes to that, I'm sort of lower functioning.

Political decisions determine the economical success. Good economic growth is pretty much proof of good politics, bad political decisions lead to a negative impact on economy.
The average person mostly cares about the economy: what's in their pocket and how well they can live with what they have.
