If your best friend came to you and spoke of her own significant other the way you described yours here, what would you say to her? 

Sociopaths, true sociopaths, do not love like you are imagine or like you experience. They may have a sense of attachment or loyalty to certain people out of what those individuals provide but it isn't this romantic love. So does he love you? If he's a sociopath, no. If he's not a sociopath, probably still no he sounds like an asshole.
