Most Westerners would die if they tried drinking the water many indigenous Africans drink. Exposure builds resilience.
Nose-picking is a cultural taboo. Your mucus traps small amounts of bacteria and viruses that travel in the air. Consuming "boogers" builds your immune system in the same way vaccinations do. The modern focus on cleanliness has made weaker immune systems and led to the development of "supergerms."
It’s disgusting, potentially harmful and surprisingly common. Rhinotillexomania – or nose picking – is something that 91% of us confess to doing. Why? Probably because many of us are too lazy to reach for a tissue.
For some, it can become a compulsive behaviour. One 53-year-old woman suffered chronic nose picking so bad that she not only perforated her nasal septum, but also picked a hole into her sinus.

I don't know about that. Western water has been repeatedly poisoned, including imported spring water we bottle up which in turn leeches BPA from the plastic. I wouldn't be surprised if the rain was healthier in Africa too.

that is it. i am going to start eating my boogers before flue season. fuck yea
There are so many strains of the flu...it seems pointless to me for the general population to receive vaccinations for it. The administration of vaccinations against the flu may even help it evolve. The only vaccine shots I take are for tetanus, as that's a rather deadly bacteria.
I do not put hydrogen peroxide on wounds, or antibacterials. In my opinion, these chemicals reduce the ability of your body to develop immunotolerance. I get minor illnesses (usually colds) about once or twice a year, and very rarely catch what others around me have.

I agree,
what do you think about the flue shot? people seem to be getting a bad flue that the shot does not protect against.

Sure maybe, but same goes if Afrikan drink N American water. It has bacteria in it that they are not used to. Not talking swamp water, talking about tap water.
