Your intellectual defense mechanisms are as impenetrable as Fort Knox, TC. ;)
No wonder you so deeply crave having someone strip you down. Pain allows you a measure of release.
Strip him down, Alter. No one can do it quite like you. ;)

I find I achieve the best results when I have run out of time and have no choice but to act and move fast.
When people are pressured, when there's no way back, nothing left to lose, ponder or analyze, when faced with unacceptable consequences, that's when barriers get broken down. It's always surprising what strength, willpower and inventiveness people can show in extreme situations.
Fear and worry of consequences is probably the greatest barrier in people's lives. Barriers can mean both limitation and protection though.
A rushed answer tends to not be the best answer, simply the answer they became stuck with from being pressed for time.
MC's point is practically the procrastinator's motto, and what comes of it tends to lack when compared to something worked on without as pressing a deadline. That sort of message tends to really be about a lack of planning and self drive. With time, the product can be fine tuned instead of accepted for being half-assed.
I think this type of production works differently for different types. I work in a creative field, writers and graphic designers, and tough deadlines are the nature of the work. Without them we tend to not produce well and flail. In the downtimes when we are not facing deadlines we're marinating ideas. I think people who are more fluid types respond and produce better under pressure and those who require more structure and control struggle in this type of environment. At the end of the day a lot of the best laid plans fall flat. Different environments require different temperaments and skills. My drive fluctuates with my interests.

I agree with that when it come to schoolwork, job projects that yeah are better done with some consistent discipline, but when I meant pressure I expanded the meaning. Not just time (although time pressure can make you reach extreme efficiency), but anything people perceive as a pressure factor (life threats, losing something or someone they care about, etc).
