Well, yeah, homeless. I don't give them the time of day or the flame off my lighter either.  

 

Not quite sure it was the homeless factor though, the clue might be in this sentence:

It's just xena being xena, turning asking for a light into a sexual act.   And likely communicating it via tone / demeanour / body language, and that's what creeped the shit out of the kids so much that they declined the request.   Would be interesting to hear the kids' own account of how the story went.  

(On the note of homeless people, i'm not the slightest bit allergic to them (cultural differences, lol) - but i can see how / why others in different countries are.)

And some stupid bitch trying to yank out my hair and pounding on my face is a damn good reason to assault somebody.

The "old" comment was me hypothesizing about a likely age gap between that kid's understanding of good manners and my own.

I also have other writing projects I'm working on, besides the novel.

Then there's my job and all the things old people have to do to keep a household running.
