I get why the real deal is better, but the cartoonish depictions eliciting a response still makes sense. It triggers the imagination much like live action porn does, spanning into a form of voyeurism or perspective taking related to wish fulfilment. 

This smells mostly of a need to appear higher than thou, a self ego boost, ignoring how the nature of visual attraction works. The elitism is best saved for those that prefer cartoons over sex itself (body pillow types and dating sim addicts). 

I'll admit that I have enjoyed cartoon porn in the past, and for me that didn't take away from enjoying the act of mashing genitals with a partner as a result.
