I believe your sentiment is shared by many, at least with respect to there being far more drama threads and far fewer threads of other quality topics currently being posted. Unfortunately, as long as there is at least one user who continues to post multiple drama threads with no one else posting on other topics this will continue.
Might it be suggested that you post something that you would consider high-quality?
I completely agree. Turncoat has made some interesting discussions, but majority of them go face first into the ground in a matter of minutes. This is one of the only places on the internet to discuss all the nitty gritty in complete anonymity and on a well organized platform so it's sad to see it not put to proper use. Perhaps there should be two sections made, one for actual discussion and one for, bull shit. Every forum needs a little bit of both. I hate to say it but due to this forums lack of moderation it will only continue to grow overwhelmed with bull shit. Also, due to the age of this forum, there isn't much left to discuss that at this point. Most of what would be talked about on a forum like this has already been talked about. It's unfortunate.
I crave some intellectually stimulating conversation from this website.
When I first came to this website I was interested in a lot of the threads, while I was never a prolific poster I read most of the threads and the discussions within them. I find myself lacking interest in most of the drama.
There are very few threads on topics which I presume brought most of us here. Things like: sociopathy, ASPD, serial killers, murder, violent crime. etcetera
Looking at the forum as of late, a very large amount of the threads are instead about the users of this site and the various dramas they have created. While it's always been the case that there are discussions over users, and it is not necessarily a bad thing, I think it has become too frequent an occurrence.
Most are aware that the high-profile users of the website gang up and fixate on particular users to entertain themselves for a while and that this is simply a nature of the forum, but in such an excess like now, it is beginning to make the forum boring.
In the end the users decide the content of this forum, so if it is constant bitching and nitpicking on each others year old posts and trying to create drama that the users want, there's not much that can or should be done about it. I would hope for a return to some high-quality threads every now and then though.
More decent discussions was a thing in the good old Nabble forum. I was even pointed to a psychopathy research page of some university and provided with a password. However, truth be told, there's not so much for us, regular people not specialized in this field, to discuss about the matter, therefore, most of the graspable things were already covered. I understand that newer members are deprived from such experience, but all I can say is "poor you".
As for what we currently have, this place has indeed turned into a drama scene. I can't complain, though, as I spend most time in pm's anyway. Still, from what I've gathered, one might fair better in the comment section of M.E.'s blog.
