Yet that's exactly what our moderator does.
I'm with cadaver and trypt on this one. I also agree that we badly need to fix the things we have now before headbutting into new complicated glitchy traps.
1. Search: advanced like this one used to be: Nabble SW search
2. Chat glitch fixed and make chat save for longer than 100 lines so we can read up, like it used to be on sc1 (no need for 2 chats, better one and good)
3. Better quoting system with a button for quoting blocks of text in the "create post" box
4. User profiles with registration date, avatar, "posts related to me/in reply to mine" section like we used to have on SC1
5. Like/dislike buttons on posts like we had on sc1
6. Time stamps with the exact time, not "last week/last month/19 hours ago"
Slashdot ratings that are unique to each thread per user (no "total" karma or anything). It preserves the balance between the need for feedback on posts, and the need to prevent rating whoring. You can copy the four Slashdot ratings: insightful, informative, interesting, funny. I recommend you tack on "inane" for negative feedback.
