To me it would make sense for the believing party to be more interested, to make an effort to talk about something that they think actually happened. Why is it that instead, the party that doesn't believe puts in much more effort to try to prove that whatever may have happened irl didn't happen? I'm hung up on this now XD but what can I say? It's vexing to me.
"Are you saying the accusations of lying on the part of the accuser could simply be due to the accuser being in the habit of such lies?"
Projection is definitely something that comes up and I'd even go so far as to say it's the main reason people are so skeptic on this site, but no it wasnt what I was saying.
What I was saying is that when someone is doubting another's identity/credibility prematurely, it isnt always about them actually caring or a conscious concern. A lot of people here have naturally guarded, skeptic or even paranoid aspects to their personality. This was all in reference to Motor saying he was bothered by the effort and lengths people go through to doubt others here.
A lot of people come here to escape from reality. When roll playing, this is never questioned. It's when members new and old bring reality into the scenario, when the skepticism and questions begin.
Some are here to have fun. Some come here to try and answer questions about themselves.
Long story short. Don't mix reality with fantasy. On less perhaps you are in private chat. Or your looking to ruffle feathers.
Funny or not, it's often very effective. And the fact is, whether you lied or not, many people here have gone to exceptional lengths to fabricate an existence. That in mind, it stands to reason that many people will also go to great lengths to deny and disprove such claims.
