Light or Dark Side?

Imagine you had to join either the Sith or the Jedi. As they both didnt really stick to their codes in the Clone Wars, I want you to base your decision on their codes and not on how they act in the movies and/or games and share, why you chose that side.

Code of the Sith:

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
                    Through passion, I gain strength.
                    Through strength, I gain power.
                    Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
                    The Force shall free me.

Code of the Jedi:

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

There is no Dark Side, nor a Light Side
There is Only the Force
I will do what I must to keep the balance
The balance is what keeps me together
There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish
There is passion, Yet peace
Serenity, Yet emotion
Chaos, Yet order
I am the wielder of the flame, the protector of balance
I am the holder of the torch, lighting the way
I am the keeper of the flame, soldier of balance
I am a guardian of balance
I am a Gray Jedi

I feel like I would be some sort of twisted light side dude. A god of sorts that starts a new branch of users of the force in order to destroy all injustices. Not sith or dark sided, but not the way of the Jedi either.

I tend to err closer to Kreia's teachings from Knights of the Old Republic 2:

"If you seek to aid everyone that suffers in the galaxy, you will only weaken yourself… and weaken them. It is the internal struggles, when fought and won on their own, that yield the strongest rewards. You stole that struggle from them, cheapened it. If you care for others, then dispense with pity and sacrifice and recognize the value in letting them fight their own battles. And when they triumph, they will be even stronger for the victory."
―Kreia

This seems more gray than dark to me, despite how the game tries to frame her character at points. It's more fitting for how I think than the approach that Jolee Bindo caries.

Bioware is quite the critic of Star Wars philosophy (the Jedi especially). Their approach being transferred over to Jade Empire yielded two fun philosophies as well: Open Palm vs Closed Fist.

Hm when I look at those, I clearly relate to the Sith Code. I value freedom and passion too much to choose the Jedi Code. I don't see how that would make me a bad/dark guy though.

Both have good things about them. They are both equal in my eyes. So I would just train myself, with ideas from both sides

I would be a Jedi sentinel, I would have a yellow bladed light saber. I would specialize in the saber techniques VII, IV, and III. The force powers I would specialize in would be force immunity, force valor, kinetic attacks/effects like push-pull, and that shit Yoda and Darth Vader can do where they absorb other guys' attacks and then blast them back at the attacker/out of the way.

I would also own a Delta 7 Aethersprite class interceptor as my personal ship, along with the booster ring necessary for intergalactic travel.

I think my light saber hilt would resemble one like this; the knucklebow, blade emitter shroud and upper hilt casing would be made of a durable alloy containing cortosis.

The series goes with the notion that passion combined with power corrupts. The dark side tends to be about a lack of restraint unless confronted directly by someone you recognize as your superior (and even then, Sith apprentices are essentially pre-destined to try to kill their Master), and said lacking comes with it's share of costs.

I imagine it like owning a firearm. If you're passionate with it, you're more likely to follow more destructive ends, while someone with restraint will instead use the gun as more of a symbol.

The problem with the Jedi code is how strongly it pushes towards repression. Go figure that many would burst at the seams from such practices and become something darker once finally freed of such shackles. Gray at least recognizes that it's better to balance it than to deny it entirely.

"I have decided to join the light side in order to get rid of all evil-doers. "

That's not what I wanted, you fucking cunt. I wanted you to burn yourself to death, bitch.

Sith, probably.

Light v. Dark seems an almost unnecessarily loaded duality.
