No.

It costs more and is essentially just an easy way out for them.

I say if we want to give the death penalty we put them in a room with a hammer. They can starve to death or bash their own brains in.

Perhaps we could make a Reality TV show out of it just for a small boost to our nation's economy.

There is no point keeping something alive in the judicial system if it cannot be rehabilitated. In my opinion, this is a compete waste of time, money & resources.

While not a "reality show," China had Interviews Before Execution.

No. First, the process of execution is too expensive because of how badly we want to get it right. Not to mention execution is not a great deterrent. And a "painless" death is more than many law abiding people end up with in the end, the best thing would be hard labor and prison with minimal human contact until you die. Even then you can assume a criminal is doing something because they don't think they'll get caught anyway. It simply fails as a deterrent. I wouldn't care what the consequence would have been if I was confident enough that I'd get off free. No.

I'm not a psychopath, nor do I live in a country with the death penalty.

However, I lend my voice to the "no" partyI think the death penalty is a very crude instrument, and one I largely associate with undeveloped societies. Judicial murder as a form of retribution is uncivilized, and the wealth of evidence denouncing capital punishment as an effective deterrent or cost saving measure renders it entirely without merit.

I would suggest that America really questions why their Western nation ranks among China, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia for executions in volume. Perhaps you're not so different after all.

I wouldn't put that much time into it, either.

These are not problems with the death penalty but rather prison as an institution. None of those problems are unsolvable nor do I think it's a fair generalization.

Also debating from a standpoint other then the state or some moral actor is uninteresting and boring.
