Dude Fahrenheit 451 could very well happen. Once everything is digital controlling what people have access to would be as easy as pushing a button. some countries already have nationwide bans on specific websites, books, shows, music, etc. the only way around it would be to retain the physical materials.

Yeah, here you go, this is the truth. I trust the source enough. Billboard.

http://www.billboard.com/articles/6259342/1994-vs-2014-top-selling-albums-comparison

It's inevitable, in fact it is such a loss some bands such as U2 have actively begun releasing albums for free. It is a very big deal or shift. It started way back with napster, and things happen fast, but things change slowly.

As in, book stores closed down en masse and cut losses early. The trend is that eventually books will be like the cd or the record.

Television will eventually merge with the computer, everyone knows it, it's just a matter of time.

And music is virtual, accessible like a never ending choose your own radio adventure.

Now what freaks me out, is Radio Shack, the Source and Future Shop shutting down. That's huge. I really do believe that eventually drones will be delivering everything we buy.

I really don't know how well itune sales over youtube and stuff are, but didn't they silently remove or make that option less visible? I don't recal that being shoved in my face recently. It's as invisible as the "report community violation" option.

OMG, I love this song...

I hope this hasn't hurt or friendship. Constructive criticism will only make us stronger. I love you and I hope that someday I can prove that to you by pushing in your stool.

Never read the book. I imagine it is a socialist utopia gone bad?

Anyways, here's another major globalization trend. I did read once there is an agreement between the USA and Tata Motors about blocking the sale of these extremely cheap vehicles for 20 years or something.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/15/tata-nano-3000-car-coming_n_1967753.html

That is what I mean by Tea Party tactics.

I don't know if it is related to the Boston Tea Party or not, but it probably is.

But whatever I read, might be wrong, they are instead being hammered by red tape, standards.

Indian automaker Tata is redesigning their $3,000 Nano minicar for release in the U.S. within the next three years, according to Automotive News.

Released in 2009 as the world's cheapest car at $2,500, the egg-shaped, four seat Nano has seen a few issues in its infancy. Those issues have included concerns over the Nano bursting into flames, slow sales after its release and a lack of furnishings like heating or a cup holder. Still, the Tata group is not letting the bumps in the road temper their ambitions for the Nano's release in the U.S and Europe.

But in the process of adjusting the car to fit American standards, the Nano will end up losing its incredibly cheap price-tag, the company says. "The structural changes that would need to be made, the changes that would be required as far as emissions are concerned, and some of the features that would be appropriate to add to the vehicle for the North American market, obviously that would drive up the price point," said Tata executive Warren Harris in an interview with the Associated Press.

I mean does anyone think for a second after government bailouts to auto makers in the USA that they are just going to let some low baller into the market and destroy it? No way...

Ahh I see what you mean. The tea party policies are driven by racism IMO. Personally, I lean towards libertarianism. Though I adhere to no political philosophy. They all have good ideas and they all have terrible ideas.

That is what your political opponents would have you believe, and it is probably why the tea party had what in my memory is a highly diversified racial spokes-people.

Anyways, with music, as we all should know by now, some people love electronic, and with a passion, but some refuse to give it thier ears because they feel it is not real music.

Well, the problem with liking electronic music, is that in many instances, with technology getting more and more intuitive, the barrier to entry to produce good music is lowering, hence you've got the DIY scene with music, right? It's huge in Europe, made a little penetration into Canada, and I don't know where it's headed in the USA, but whatever.

With a lowered barrier to entry, the market saturates, and as a result, the obvious is to brace for less money to circulate (per capita sort of deal, but I genuinely do not have enough info on that sort of thing, it could be swelling in terms of circulating money), so with the socialization so to speak of the music industry and the internet, one has to wonder where artists will be in 10 years time. Only my opinion. I mean those hologram concerts are insane. I can't tell if they gave away tickets to people to get them to worship animated characters on stage, or if it is the real deal and the future, due to a barrier to entry profit agenda (which I highly doubt). I don't know for sure...

What's a movie?

Idk what you mean by Borg or tea parties haha

However, any technology that can be used to advance society can also be used to control it. Just look at the double edged sword that is nuclear energy.

Pretty much. It never goes deeply into the socialist mentality its more about totalitarianism and people's fear of the unknown driving them into the arms of their captor. Atleast that what I got from it.

Thats not the first time something like that has happened either. Tesla motors ran into many of the same problems. As well as the Chevy Volt. I want to say it was Toyota or honda but they released a car that was identicle to the volt and only cost half as much. The resulting reaction was a mix of racism and self hatred among those who bought the volt anyways.

I wish the education was better here. I've seen so many kids indoctrinated into a conservative or liberal idealogy without knowing the first thing about them. Many of them simply follow the choices their parents make.

I love conspiracies as much as any introvert but I truly believe that if humanity is going to advance the infighting amongst the various tribes has to stop. We constantly trying to fuck over eachother and move up to the next rung on the ladder while the earth os litetally rotting around us.

I didn't understand the reference to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit_451

The Borg is a alien race that is heavily integrated into a hive mind technology. They assimilate everything.

The tea party is a political party in the USA that prefers things like extra tarrifs and protections from foreign competitions. It's a band aid sort of fix to give extra support to failing businesses all in the name of providing economic freedoms or opportunities to businesses that will or would otherwise be snuffed out.

It works for farmers, because there are national security fears, but what are you going to do to save someone who wants to go up against Sony or Sanyo? Penalize the rest of the world for doing business in your country?

I meant society is heading the way of farenheit 451. I don't think its a movie.  like how his wifes "family" was on television. Houses are quickly becoming cages. I know so many people in the younger generations who have no interest in going outside. Trying to get some of my friends to explore the woods(I live in a very historical area) is tantamount to asking them to wander the desert. Its just painful they find no pleasure in things outside of technology.

Electronic music is enjoying a golden age ATM. It happened rather recently too. I've been to a few clubs to see the local touring artist and everything about them is over the top. You would probably enjoy seeing some of what Excision has to offer. I saw him on his 50,000watts of bass tour. Nothing I can say can do that environment justice. Its simply beautiful. Its as you said though DIY artists are cropping up left and right. BADASS raves is the most notable in the DC area. They'rebranching out to the west coast and gulf now.
