"The way you talk about the mask betrays you think it's cool."

I wasn't and don't think I did try to make it sound appealing. The only details I shared about it were that the gas mask was old, antique and worn. I really dont think that justifies as me thinking it's cool though.

"If you want some sincere advice"

Are you inferring I was asking? Otherwise, what motivated you to give it?

"you should find healthier interests than a video game and any crazy story that might possibly be related to said video game."

Sure man. I see a lot of misinformed and misguided anger, take it somewhere else.

Nice editing from your original reply, which was telling in how defensive it was:

"The way you talk about the mask betrays you think it's cool."

Show me where, by saying it was old and outdated?

"If you want some sincere advice"

Are you referring that I asked for any? Or are you just coming out randomly with insults?

First off, just mentioning the mask and imagining it vividly and in such detail betrays you think it's smth special, and that it caught your attention and interest more than it would just any person's. And it's not like you haven't made your affinity for masks pretty obvious around here. XD

I see my advice was very unwelcomed. An advice is just that, take it or leave it. In my experience though, the advice that gets the most aggressive reaction is the advice that hits home in uncomfortable ways. Perhaps part of you knows you've let that video game have too much influence over you after all.

I can see a lot of misinformed and misguided anger too, and your unedited post shows where it comes from.

It's not like you referenced it to remind me lol. Someone saying "you play too much video games" sounds like an insult, especially if you were being vague with the specifics.

Anyhow, The game was nice but it's passed my interest now, while things about going into the woods, isolation and me actually being a stalker have been an issue almost all my life. The game bore some pretty good comparisons but I came to this forum asking for help about my stalking before I played that game.

It was portraying unnecessary emotion and what I felt at the moment. After awhile you realize those words werent needed and strayed from the point I was trying to make to you.

"I can see a lot of misinformed and misguided anger too, and your unedited post shows where it comes from."

You come out of the blue insulting me and that's exactly what you'll get. It's very clear to see where my responses came from, yours not so much.

"First off, just mentioning the mask and imagining it vividly and in such detail betrays you think it's smth special"

I didn't even describe it lol the original description was a copy/paste from a sigthing of him. I only started describing it once you brought it up. Masks aren't anything to me,  I dont care for masks and my liking of them doesn't venture outside this forum. I'm far more focused on the aspect of a man living out in the woods alone and avoiding contact from people.

"and that it caught your attention and interest more than it would just any person's. And it's not like you haven't made your affinity for masks pretty obvious around here. XD"

Well, geez. He wears a mask, spends time isolated and confines himself to the remote parts of the woods. I'm interested in his case because I'm not too far away from that.

"the advice that gets the most aggressive reaction is the advice that hits home in uncomfortable ways"

And you think that was my most aggressive reaction? You must think Im soft or something lol. Anyhow it's not like you gave others to compare it too, had me playing video games or any of that been the current topic you would've gotten a different tone. But coming out of nowhere definatley seems more like an insult. I've never been one to disregard constructive criticism.

You still never answered my original question of where you got this compulsion to advise me here

Turncoat understood perfectly what I meant and where I came from though. The stalker video game was mentioned when you were having your adventure in abandoned buildings too. The pattern is obvious. You should consider just how much that video game influences your interests, thoughts and even actions.

My advice was more of an observation, and that's what we do around here, right? Observe and call out shit. As it happens, I thought that observation had the potential to benefit you at the same time, or... or not.

I saw it closer to enjoying stories that he could have feel similar to himself, a form of proxying or projecting himself onto the scene instead of raw witnessing or character puppetry. If it were simply "becoming the mask", he'd risk adopting other traits outside of the template he'd made for himself, such as Psycho Mantis' flamboyance or maybe even Pyro's Pyromania.

It seems closer to me to root from self-affirmation, not modeling. When people around him are rarely like himself, go figure he'd turn towards other sources, possibly as a form of outlet for feeling alone or largely misunderstood.
