Let's start a #fuckthepolice movement

Hi everyone,

Okay, so I really hate American cops. They give you tickets for doing things that don't even hurt others! Every time I see a cop, I feel fear, dread, resentment, and hatred. Not because I've hurt anyone, but because I choose to self medicate myself with weed, or drive the SAME speed as everyone else (5 over). In today's society, everyone is basically breaking the law all the time. It's impossible not to because there are so many of them, and police have the DISCRETION to choose to punish you for it if they dislike you, or your kind.

Lately, I have been extremely happy to see all the anti-police campaigns going on. For the longest time, we American children have been indoctrinated to believe that police are friendly, and good, and view them as protectors, but I think now, no modern times, society is finally beginning to see what the police really are-- war mongering, power hungry, uneducated government trolls who use their power to satisfy their own moods and egos as much as they do to uphold the law.

That's why I would really like if we could all go out into the internet, and begin posting, and sharing "#fuckthepolice". Perhaps if we do it enough, it will become a trend, and we the internet can show the disgusting American police what we really think of them, and hopefully stop impressionism young Americans from joining their ranks.

Share my tweet too!

Love,

Luna

Imagine walking down a dark alley.

A stranger jumps out with a gun forcing you to your knees just before assraping you.

What do you do?

This sounds like hating them because they get in the way more than hating them for what they are, which sounds like it's about the laws more than the enforcers of said law. Cops serve a useful purpose as a countermeasure for what'd be there without them.

What are cops really? People. Anything a person is capable of a cop is capable of as well with the only underlying difference being a badge and some training. They have the capacity to be as good or bad as anyone else.

"Okay, so I really hate American cops."

Fucking lol.

"They give you tickets for doing things that don't even hurt others!"

They give you tickets for doing unsafe behaviors that have the potential to hurt others.

"Every time I see a cop, I feel fear, dread, resentment, and hatred."

Really? It's okay they're people too.

"Not because I've hurt anyone, but because I choose to self medicate myself with weed"

Do you have an illness that warrants it? Or does saying self medicate make it seem lighter than using it for recreational purposes.

"police have the DISCRETION to choose to punish you for it if they dislike you, or your kind."

I'll take it over not having discretion. At least then some cops will cut you a break.

"Lately, I have been extremely happy to see all the anti-police campaigns going on."

It's mostly over race issues that have been overblown by the media, not at all by how much control the police actually has. I dont see anything changing soon.

"For the longest time, we American children have been indoctrinated to believe that police are friendly, and good, and view them as protectors, but I think now, no modern times, society is finally beginning to see what the police really are-- war mongering, power hungry, uneducated government trolls who use their power to satisfy their own moods and egos as much as they do to uphold the law."

It's not just modern times, rebellion against authority has been an issue ever since it was instated. I mean you sound similar to those hippies in the late 60's.

That's why I would really like if we could all go out into the internet, and begin posting, and sharing "#fuckthepolice".

Fairly sure it wouldn't change much. The term is more likely to lose severity if repeated enough and has already in a sense. Though its nice to see a long term solution to the problem vs advocating direct action against the police.

But, believe me. If the police want to start encroaching on rights, America is thee last place they'd be able to do it in.

It already happened.  Think about it.  What would you do?

Nothing?

Gather up people to look for the total stranger?

I still think your hashtag ought to be closer to #fuckthelaw (since #fucksomeofthelaws has less of a ring to it), based on your view of the matter at least.

Following that, the questions becomes about which laws are and aren't sensible and why, and if people should be able to just pick and choose which laws they break based on personal whim instead of working towards changing the laws themselves and waiting for it to become legal.

Without some system of law, anywhere could become said dark alley. The alley is dangerous because of how it can be used to hide.

If they no longer have a reason to hide, it can potentially spread outside of it. An alley might even become a safe haven when everywhere becomes dangerous.
