How to be charming in one easy step:

1. Mirroring - their gestures, the way of speaking, opinions, feelings... After this they open up. Take your time to see what they want to hear, give it to them.

 Yes, a classic.

Another one is repeating certain phrases that they say for emphasis. Not only does it ensure that you're paying attention, but it makes it seem like their words have lasting impression and you find what they say interesting. Be careful with timing though, no one wants to be talked all over. 

BTW, In my opinion being charming in and of itself isn't the bad kind of manipulation. Unfortunately, too many people use charm to serve negative agendas. 

I have done it but my mistake was that i overdid the insulting part.

I think I get it. So pretending like you're like them then point their flaws or insult them to gain confidence or something like that. Have you done that before? I just noticed you have a nazi symbol on your tiger, lol. Do you like tigers and nazi symbols? 

How about complimenting them a lot and showing vulnerability? I heard that works.
