Yeah, his background is more of the mysterious mercenary too. I've never played with him(exclusively sub-zero) but taking him out on even hard difficulties is really easy. However, the new character I'm a little afraid to face is takeda. Kenshi's son that was raised/trained by scorpion himself. Who would really leave their kid with that guy?

The game does look bad as shit. The fatalities are outstanding! This and hatred are must haves in my book.

So... with Scorpion taking on a different path, this portion of the old story won't come to pass, will it?

I wonder how they'll rewrite those characters down the line. The corruption from awakening too early and being influenced by Shinnok to cause one to fight the other might either never happen or the other one may end up evil instead.

Every game he's been featured in had him changing pivotal events in some way. In the original timeline it took his help to take down Liu Kang, something that in the alternate timeline took the effort of an Elder God to accomplish. Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero changed the series immensely, and a reboot featuring them from the start was a genius move on the writer's part.

On another note, I just checked out the mirror match dialogues, which are pretty great, especially the ones that hint at pre-MK9 lore that's not even canon anymore (like Shinnok referencing the pyramid from Mortal Kombat Armageddon, something that hasn't even surfaced yet, and Scorpion's double calling himself the Elder God's Champion, a revelation from Mortal Kombat Deception):

Just finished the storyline and Quan Chi is something else. Through deception and manipulation, his impact on the storyline makes him pretty much immortalized as one of thee most important characters in mortal kombat. 

They're an interactive medium for storytelling with the potential for competition.

Is this story line based on real person ? If not. WTF

Normal people wont know how to mentally deal with it, so they will take it out on you physically. 

You were right, Scorpion is an alright guy when he's not a vengeful, hell fire demon looking to commit brutal spree killings. God you need to play the game I'd feel bad spoiling it. In one moment, his anger permanently changes the mk series forever
