Well there are already 'rules' and always for this place just like any site registered or hosted in the us. Not too sure what the aversion you have to "guidelines to what is considered spam" is but it is reminiscent of a rebellious teen.

But if we look back into the case of TK banning WW2 then we could clearly see there was a discrepancy between claims and it was very hard to get anything straight, on the other hand if there were bannable - guidelines for what is considered spam I would think it would be a lot clearer both to people viewing(the ban) it and to people posting.

I see no reason to tie our hands with rules. I can think of no way to formulate rules without there being exceptions to them, then the exceptions would be discussed and so forth. It would become an endless lawyer shit going on, a lot of talk and a slow decision-making process, when my years long experience in this place says that banning dex is enough to keep things in check around here.

How so? I was pushing for transparency is the banning and I think guidelines will make it much clearer. 

Then the members and debates and discuss what should be bannable and not, serving to enhance the democratic feel of the forum and turncoat has already shown some evidence to be open to the idea. (referencing to the thread about caps lock)

This could work at least until this forum comes into its own and develops a stronger culture and identity.

Well if discussions about banns are boring to you don't have to take part in them I mean this is a forum and I'm sure what you see as a exception to a rule others wouldn't vice versa.

I mean the whole idea that there is two people spamming proves that there is something you consider spam tier posting without it being dex, what I am proposing is that we show what the criteria for that is.

On the other hand slow decision making is a objectively band thing when it comes to removing spam and I'm sure we can trust turncoat to ban that away.

Who we are does not matter.

What matters is our plan.

The topics not unbumping is quite annoying too.
