If I can save up enough money I've been wanting to, but as is that hasn't really been looking likely. Even within the bachelors I graduated with it's hard to find work, which has lead to lower paying jobs that mostly are for covering the bills.

Still, with a minor in psych and global pre-reqs out of the way I suppose it wouldn't take too long. If I could nab a scholarship somehow for it I'd go back as soon as possible, then see if going for my masters afterwards is even realistic (since there's not too much work available for just a major in it).

Someone..obviouslyyyyy not me..managed to convince a psychiatrist to prescribe her Vyvanse for her "self-diagnosed" (non-existent) ADD a few years back. Good stuff. Lasts way longer than most Rx amphs.

ADHD ACCORDING TO AN ARTICLE

1. Everything is a distraction. Everything.

2. This impulsivity.

3. Our organization system is on the border of breaking down into complete chaos.

4. Fidgeting is really peaceful.

5. We’re aware of how crazy we sound when talking about ADHD. â€œI couldn’t focus on my test because I had a song stuck in my head and it was playing too loud.” Sensory overload can be so much sometimes, we get overwhelmed by things that only exist in our own minds.

6. We will not sell you our Adderall.

7. Nothing will ever be as glorious as hyperfocus.

While inattention typically rules our brains, there is a glorious thing called hyper-focus where there is nothing that can break our attention from what we’re doing. Car alarm going off outside? Doesn’t matter. Fifteen new Facebook notifications? Oh well, finally cleaning out this closet. Apocalyptic plague of locusts? Nothing’s going to stop us from finishing what we’re doing. While this does happen naturally on its own every now and again, medicine helps get us there a lot easier.

8. It’s not just for kids.

9. Forgetfulness is our middle name.

10. We spend a crazy amount of time looking for our keys, phone, or purse.

11. We get anxious. A lot. With a mind that is constantly buzzing, it’s only natural that some of those thoughts can become worrisome. When a single negative thought comes to mind, it can easily spiral out of control into anxiety over dozens of different scenarios that probably won’t ever come true.

My thoughts... I just wanted to talk about hyperfocus..

I really like the idea of feeling of hyper focus. It is not mentioned very much when describing ADHD.

"Hyperfocus is the experience of deep and intense concentration in some people with ADHD. ADHD is not necessarily a deficit of attention, but rather a problem with regulating one's attention span to desired tasks. So, while mundane tasks may be difficult to focus on, others may be completely absorbing."

Hyperfocus is that moment when I get so concentrated that everything else around me disappears. It does not notice time or space around it an only brings in the one matter at hand. In the moment it ends it is almost like waking up from a dream.
