ADHD > personality disorders in your head
by SensitiveSoulI don't understand this talk of superiority or inferiority. I have ADD and it is diagnosed and not by some stupid test online. It sure makes me different than mainstream modern life. I do indeed have a problem following other people's timetables being a good little slave. I didn't like school. But I'm not sure adaptation to society proves anything. You don't have to have ADD to be creative, but fact is you MUST have a mind that does not just follow the highway of "normal" thoughts. Creativity is based on branching off from where you "should" be. That is how new thoughts develop. I cherish creativity. On the down side I'm terribly disorganized. I wish I had more control over my near surroundings. But it's still not a high price to pay, we usually. I also make quite a difference between ADD and ADHD (we do that in Europe, we don't lump them into the same diagnosis). I'm not the on the go hunter impulsive type. There is no hyperactivity in me.
Tell that to Xena who calls all the people with PD's crazy, and "you people", and how she goes on about the fucked morality of PD people.
ADHD is the superior mental disorder.
I used to score higher on these sorts of tests until I learned ways to focus more and got more control over my life. While I score a 24 now (Inattention Subscale: 10 Hyperactivity/Impulsivity Subscale: 14), I likely would have scored much higher a few years back.
Only 20 questions though, only part worth seeing as good about that is that the test was likely made with their target audience in mind.
Edit: Tried taking it with the older self in mind, scored a 33 (Inattention Subscale: 17 Hyperactivity/Impulsivity Subscale: 16). Chances are it'd have been lower if I'd taken it back then instead of now with the notion of making a relative comparison. A simple look at context though shows that ADHD as an answer is a bit of a reach (insomnia + early schizo symptoms + OCD).
