Every year since twitter has been popular I see these tweets. Last year (or two years ago?) they were filled with "I got the wrong colored iPad I hate everyone". I find that with things like twitter and facebook people have a hard time containing their thoughts that should stay in your head...wait until we have companies that will come out and offer employers condensed backgrounds of an applicants behavior online. Tis will be glorious.

I hate some of the Christmas gifts I get. It's just a gift. Keep it in your goddamn head.

That being said... just, some of the kids on this twitter need a lesson. As in spending some time at shelter and returning all the gifts/money they got. (I'd do it to my kid if they said something like this for the whole world to look at) Different lesson however then poor victim girl in the abuse video posted by TC that read too many psychology forums.

My response to Xena was a covert abuse tactic aimed at you. It didn't work though since clearly you are made of steel. Which makes me very happy since I mean you no harm. 

No. I believe in all types of abuse, emotional, physical, verbal... I don't believe when people try to tack on labels like "covert" abuse to make sure the whole crowd buys into it. It's a story fluffing term. 

Whatever "covert abuse" is - it's some mild crap.

I'd say it depends on the age they began being exposed to it for if the damage is something to take seriously or not. Before a certain age, they're contending against that sort of thing with no idea what it is. Once they learn what it is however it's easier to say they're being weak if they don't take the steps to be less impacted by it, as knowing what it is at least gives them the starting point to build a tolerance to it, to take it less seriously.
