If given only those 2 options, then yeah, otherwise a quote from the movie American Sniper seems fitting (following on Turncoat's point):

"There are three types of people in this world: sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. Some people prefer to believe that evil doesn't exist in the world and if it ever darkened their doorstep, they wouldn't know how to protect themselves. Those are the sheep. Then you've got predators, who use violence to prey on the weak. They're the wolves. And then there are those blessed with the gift of aggression, an overpowering need to protect the flock. Why not be neither?

if you're constantly surrounded by predators, you have to defend yourself from their evil ways...right???  Being neither could be an option when these predators are not part of your life. 

I might assume an indifferent attitude with technically everything, but I wouldn't in this case.

Better the predator than the prey is my life motto.

A murderous parasite?

Predator/Prey is a matter of perspective, a black and white one at that.
