In other words, I think the core theme behind most Japanese porn is women who resist sex and men who take. Sure, whatever, but it seems slightly different than the American porn where women are deeply involved in the pleasure aspect and resisting is not a general theme.

Really, I should have re-titled this thread, the psychology of cultural pornography.

I'd say the easy way to divide it down the line is production values versus "substance".

Japanese porn, it's a bit of both, no? But on average, more bizarre kink. Not so much hardcore kink.

there are japanese interested in sex, but not because it's their instinct. it's a hobby and interest like anything else. it's why their porn is the way it is, "highly developed". but that's also because of the strict laws on porn.
