A rational perspective and analyzing dispassionately, supersedes empathy and love. That is to say, logic is the superior intangible concept, rather than emotion. This is a notion that I profoundly espouse and encourage those who allow sentiment and emotionally induced perceptions to obfuscate their life, to reciprocate with reason. Logic and reason are additionally far more practical models to be applied to everyday life, especially in one's career. Emotion hinders the opportunity to maximally capitalize on self-interests, such as acquiring money, females (albeit a superficial demonstration of emotion may actually benefit with this one), a physique, and success. One emotion that I can attest to offering stability, is fulfillment. However, this should be a direct byproduct of the effectiveness of the implementation of reason and logic.

Again with the "If I don't see it, it doesn't exist" mentality, eh? Maybe you need to get away from your bubble and you will find them.

It would do you good to differentiate passion from motivation from talent from skill from obligation for once in your life.

My thoughts are that being devoid of emotion is a handicap. And that no one is 100% devoid of them anyway, otherwise they couldn't be motivated to get anything done or enjoy life in any way.

I've yet to meet someone really good at what he/she does, and not have passion for it. So when you say, "especially in someone's career", I disagree. Even if logically you'd be more capable/suited to become a lawyer, and know that you'd make decent money that way, if you don't have passion and a calling for that, you'll end up a mediocre lawyer. If you want a reckless "job" that involves risking your life for example, despite all logic, if you are passionate enough about it, you'll be fucking great at it.

"And that no one is 100% devoid of them anyway, otherwise they couldn't be motivated to get anything done or enjoy life in any way."
There are disorders that cause that sort of thing to happen.

Depression is not always about sadness, but sometimes about feeling nothing from becoming numb. Go figure they have no motivation or joy from that.

Beyond that, the byproducts of dissociative disorders can make for that sort of detachment. Depersonalization Disorder is a trip in itself.

I have moments of depersonalization every so often. During such times the body feels more like a vehicle than a part of myself, and the only real thoughts occurring are observations. During such times there is not even a semblance of emotion or fear, but from that all it really makes for is moments of staring at stuff. I can't imagine being like that 24/7, it's like not being alive at all.

"I've yet to meet someone really good at what he/she does, and not have passion for it."
Would you call perfectionism or a sense of right and wrong passion? It is still an obsession I guess, but what about those that operate more like a machine?

That is a great advantage, do you ever wish you could love people? Have real friends that you care about? how does it feel when you watch others in social engagements?... maybe you do feel something afterall

I agree completely. The ability to add up the pluses and minuses and make a decision with no emotion reaction or regret is extremely useful in almost every aspect of life. A straight forward methodical logic based and somewhat ruthless approach is what i believe to be a large factor in success.

Being good at something and hating it is very prevalent in China. Since the main reason that they are good at it is because they are forced to work over their limits (which is also why a lot of them hate it), I'm not sure if passion for it would make them better.
