Jericho Swain, the Master Tactician

The earliest account of Swain's existence comes from a Noxian infirmary doctor's notes. According to them, Swain limped into the ward without cry or complaint: his right leg was snapped in half, with bone protruding from the skin. A small, scowling bird seemed affixed to his shoulder. The doctor gawked in horror as the young adolescent answered questions about his health and age with a calm, even stare. Even behind the echoing crack as the sand counterweights reset his tibia, Swain’s measuring gaze never flickered, nor did his eyes twitch from the pop of his fibula. He refused the doctor’s recommendation of magical treatment for the leg’s inoperable damage, requesting only a spare crutch before shuffling away. He next surfaced in documents from the Noxian military, although it is evident that they are incomplete. Normally a crippled boy would be turned away in shame from Noxus’ proud legion, but the records indicate his first designation was that of a ranking officer.

The men who've served under him (and survived) have remained in his charge with unshakable faith and loyalty. He leapt through the High Command's hierarchy, often ascending when superiors requested demotions to join his unit. A cunning strategist, Swain was decorated after every battle he fought, regularly hobbling in contemplation at the front of the assault. His rise to power seemed unceasing until he was suddenly relegated to inactive status prior to the Ionian Invasion - a bewildering decision which reeked of bureaucratic subversion. If Swain was upset by the events which unfolded, he never believed it. His face was so implacable that it was popularly rumored to be a mask, disguising something utterly inhuman beneath. More controversy surrounded the bird that never left his shoulder, whose name he whispered only to it. When Demacia escalated its presence in the League, Swain was immediately returned to active duty.

"If you haven't yet lost the ability to ask, you may not yet ask for relief."
― Swain

If they bore you then why play them?

Because it's something to do when there is nothing better to do.

Do you just not want Whoameye to think you're in the same league as the people he deems unworthy of his social graces? It's ok, I doubt he judges you pookie.

Not sure why you felt the need to bring whoameye into this discussion.

The games themselves become significantly harder if you do a megabuster no charge shot run, but as a whole the X series is easier from having more options for mobility. It feels easier, but also faster paced.

My favorites were Megaman 8 and Megaman X-4 for those two, and while the story is god awful I love the setting and battle system for Megaman Battle Network. The story itself even reveals as an Elseworld setting where Ikari got funding instead of Wiley.

1 - what's the difference?

2 - I like the absurdity of the character. Think about it: he's an italian plumber who grows when he eats mushrooms and fights an army of freaks led by a giant turtle...

3 - the original. the idea of getting the robot master's weapon after defeating it is brilliant. By the way, X is too emo...

4 - he's the fighter with the wider variety of attacks from the Street Fighter series

5 - I like his variety of attacks and his tricky moves

1. The PSP version had the dialogue changed from a more literal translation to being all knight era-ish, and they fleshed out his character a little more. They even gave an encounter where you control him and the person he kidnaps at the beginning of the game.

2. And then somehow he was sent out into Space. He does sort of push the envelope even by Nintendo standards.

3. I prefer X's gameplay, but the former one's more nostalgic. Have you tried Megaman 9:

4. Nah, it's got to be that winning pose:

He does have some cool lines though. I never really got too behind Street Fighter, but that was mostly from a lack of knowing people that played it.

5. His story lines get pretty weird at points, but he is a classic. Not sure how he does some of the stuff in Soul Caliber without the mechanical hand however.

1. From "War of the Lions" or the original?

2. I don't see the appeal.

3. All versions of him or just specifics? There's Megaman, Megaman X, Megaman.EXE...

4. It's his victory pose, isn't it?

5. His gambit moves make him an amazing risk character. Health as a resource makes him delightfully tricky.

" Mindfuckery/Simplicity"

Close. Kreia has to be my favorite for the divine fact that she WAS so much of a mindfuck. She manipulated all those around her for a gain that was near impossible, she tried to ring around a black hole around all those around her only to realize at the end the very hole she created was the very one that sucked her in.

Parallels in the both of you turn, you both are unbiased in many ways (;
