It's more of a hobby. My own cluster of traits tends to attract "crazies", as did the environments I was thrown at.
I'd be in the mental health field if I had the funds to pay for 8+ years of school, if only to try to counter the damage the idiots with such a degree are doing within the field. I only possess a minor in it.
by CreedmoorIt wasn't intended to be a stepping stone for others to use as a form of validation.
Why do you assume someone is seeking validation simply because they're willing to share their own experiences in relation to the subject matter?
This is a sociopath forum, hence why we should be able to talk about our own experiences with sociopathy as well. But apparently, that's a taboo subject here, which is why no-one is willing talk about it for fear they'll be accused of seeking validation or being a wannabe, which is absofuckinglutely ridiculous.
If someone can relate to what you post, then I see no reason why they shouldn't respond to it in any damn way they see fit, whether that's what you intended or not.
Were you born this way due to genetic reasons? Or were you created due to traumatic events in your life?
Who the fuck knows. Who the fuck cares.
by Turncoat"When I said change I was referring to there ability to adapt to situations that benefit them."
About as adaptable as an actor I guess. How well they adapt to situations is limited to their skill at blending in, pretty much like any disorder.
A surprising number of disorders end up excelling at the ability to lie, as the very presence of the disorders traits when paired with the self conscious belief of being unlikable for it pretty much doubles as a form of practice through "necessity". It's when the disorder causes things like hyperactive twitching or unstable mood swings, things that visually give themselves away, that the self conscious belief changes from practice to handicap.
Of course there's those who either don't care (or can't help it) or are too delusional to see their actions as being in any way strange in the eyes of others, and they tend to be the exception to the point of it's inverse, being a little too honest.
Thank you yet again for another insightful response. If I were a betting man. I would assume you are in the mental health field. Possibly a psychiatrist or a psychologist.
The quote I posted from Dr. Scott Bonn was a response to Turncoats question to me in reference to why I thought there was.
"A night and day difference between a sociopath vs a psychopath."
It wasn't intended to be a stepping stone for others to use as a form of validation.
I attended a, North American Wildlife and Natural Resource conference a few years ago. There were people from all over North America and Canada, at this conference. I noticed when groups were talking there was a subliminal approach to how they spoke. They were in a sense trying to convince the others that they were in some way superior to them.
To me the conference was more of a glorified dick measuring contest. Everyone looking to stand out as the best in there field of expertise. At times this is how I view this forum. Everyone using there own specific approach to stand out as the smartest and most dangerous member of the forum.
I have also been looking into myself and how I differ from some of you. From what I have learned online. Is that I am most likely Obsessive Compulsive. I can't relate to most of you. Though it does intrigue me as to why some of you are the way you are.

by CreedmoorI said what I said because of the fact that every chance you get. You pounce on the chance to let everyone else know how Antisocial you are.
Why? Because I'm only the one here who isn't afraid to discuss their diagnosis when it relates to a particular thread topic?
It's not as though I bring the subject up randomly for no reason.
Again, this is a sociopath forum. Part of the reason it exists is so people can share their experiences with sociopathy (or psychopathy). I personally would like to see more people do that, but it seems to me that doing that only creates arguments because then people do exactly what you did, assume they're seeking validation.
I'm not sure now if it's the other members you are trying to convince or yourself ?
I was fucking diagnosed with AsPD, dumbshit. I don't need to convince anyone.
