How many times do you have to ask a person to call you? Is it common for you to have to ask someone repeatedly? Is it a power play, sadism or just plain dislike?

Is it an NPD, BPD, or ASPD thing? Or just someone telling you to go away?

it's definitely someone telling you to go away. If they aren't calling, they're not interested. Move on.

I guess that is their feeling as well. I get calls that say "out of area" on my home phone. It doesn't leave a number.  I was just wondering if they think I am ignoring them by not calling back.

Umm... no. I give my number to a person once, maybe twice if they can convince me they lost it and it was really an accident.

If I have their number I give them a whole week before I remind them to call. I remind them once. Only once.

After that I move on. Anything else looks like begging.

How could you call them back if they don't leave numbers?

lolwut? Somebody who speaks a language you don't understand is leaving messages on your machine and you're worried about being rude to them? No, you're not the rude one.

I had this problem with these idiots in Pakistan calling me every Saturday morning trying to sell me air duct cleaning services. I kept telling them over and over that I live in a fucking apartment building and quit calling. I was nice at first, then pushier and pushier...

Finally, my crazy sister ended it when she was here last week. She screamed: "FUUCK OFFF!!! QUIT CALLING HEEERE!!!" into the phone.

They haven't called back since. :D

Fuck them, you don't have to ask them to do it. It's just plain dislike, but you're better off without people like that in your life. Like someone said here: move on, S.

My point was that you need't fear that they felt you ignored them--you never had their numbers.

LOL. She's assuming she knows who he is. Otherwise she wouldn't have asked that inane question about how often it is appropriate to tell someone to call, as if the answer weren't obvious. Note that in the example she gives, this guy is calling her, so her entire scenario fails to make sense. From this I might deduce that it's an attention whoring thing. The fact that she is now attempting to deflect from the matter by talking about political candidates and wrong numbers further reinforces this likelihood.
