Well worded.

Never thought of it like that

Your purchasing it alongside others doing so helps increase the sense of demand for the product. To create the boxes and the food itself? It was built from the destruction of other things.

The consumption of it likely had you void waste as well, destroying our Earth a tiny bit with every flush you do.

Both the cost and the inevitability are even present in "Cheerios" without having to joke about you destroying the little O's. Your desire alongside the desire of others creates a demand, and demand has costs.

I still think cheerios are the best cereal ever invented by man kind. I get the point as well. I guess desire is one of those neutral things. I can't explain it, but basically it's neither destructive or beneficial. Just a combination of the two. That's my conclusion of all this anyway. Disregarding cheerios of course.

The closest thing to a desire that lacks destruction is the idea of "leave no footprints", but even that is more about harm reduction than anything.

That seems about right. I'd usually have something more to add. But this is a suitable conclusion.

I'd say the destruction outweighs the reward, since the destruction is far more likely to outlive the desires and even the lifespan of the ones having them.

"Good point. For starters desire is relating back to the mind (no specific part or anything, just in the mind for now). So my definition of destruction would be the corruption of the mind until the point of the brains demise. Like suicide, giving up in life, or something on the lines of that."

Corruption of the mind... What about delusions, pride, and hedonism? Are you just meaning unhappiness?

Both would be a good answer. Like the combination of destruction and unhappiness. Unhappiness might of been a better term though in stead of destruction lol.

Don't we first have to define "destruction" in order to discuss it?
