My question is. Why would a sociopath join a forum looking for validation that they are in fact sociopaths?
Some join for validation, that right there always tells me they couldn't be that label. A sociopath wouldn't look for validation, they are who they are.
I don't believe a sociopath would join a sociopath forum. Just for the fact that they would have nothing to gain by doing so. Most if not all sociopaths do not consider themselves to be sociopaths. In there eyes, there is nothing wrong with them.
That's not necessarily true. As Luna said, conversing with likeminded individuals (sociopath or not) can be beneficial in more ways than one with many different types of people. Sociopaths would be no different.
I think most of them don't consider themselves a sociopath because they don't know they are one. Usually they don't care enough to take the time to self analyze themselves because you're right, they don't think anything is wrong with them. It is just a label of many different factors and personality traits wrapped into a package.

Also why would someone want to be a sociopath?
Hollywood cranked it up to a "bad ass" image.
I'm also perplexed as to why some of you consider it a insult to be called a narcissist in the forum.
Usually the way people use the word narcissist use it in a derogatory way towards someone who is full of themselves, brags too much, and continuously tries to garner the attention of a conversation. Can you see how that would piss some off? The ones who get hurt by it have the fragile egos and don't like it when called out.
Is aspd somehow superior to all other disorders?
Some would say so.
