The Dexter/Josh Problem

When I mute josh, I get bitched at for doing it. If I don't mute him, I get bitched at for not doing it. So, I think it's important this issue is raised again, so that we can all (or at least the majority here) can come to some kind of mutual agreement regarding the dexter/josh problem.

I want you all to answer these two simple questions:

1. Is josh a problem on this forum? Explain why you believe he is or isn't.

2. Should josh be allowed to post here until he starts spamming the forum again?

If you disagree with each other, then feel free to share your opinion. I am hoping that a debate will spark from this and we may actually reach some form of agreeance. I think it's important to know what most of you want, so that I can act on the majority's behalf as necessary.

Hmm... He's annoying but no. Banning him goes against this forum's No Mod tradition.

I guess just delete the dumbest threads. I mean CAKE typed out 800 times or personal info that specific members complain about bc it's their personal info.

Maybe members could vote down the dumbest threads and you could delete them when they get to... say 50 down votes? Or decide on a number with luna?

reaper basically all the active members want you demoted and other people say dexter gives the forum content

Luna's thread regarding the Dexter problem gave a pretty clear indication that most people regard josh as nothing more than a nuisance. Why do you think she gave me permission to keep muting him. Duh

we want you gone reaper not dexter

lol, Troll votes don't count. That's why the voting system is useless here, dumbass.

The problem lies in these factors:

1) "When I mute josh, I get bitched at for doing it."
a) Muting him goes against the idea of an unmoderated forum.
b) Muting him isn't fixing the problem, it's just keeping things tidier.

2) "If I don't mute him, I get bitched at for not doing it."
a) It's your job. You were placed into the admin position because of him and your claims of being able to get rid of him, "exterminate" him.
b) Your former claims have users noting hypocrisy, which in turn makes it that much harder to take you seriously.

a) Muting him goes against the idea of an unmoderated forum.

Yet Luna gave me permission to do it because even she knows that the majority don't want him here.

b) Muting him isn't fixing the problem, it's just keeping things tidier.

No, it doesn't fix the problem, but isn't keeping the forum tidier better than no solution at all?

Until Luna comes up with a better solution, there is nothing else that can be done.

a) It's your job. You were placed into the admin position because of him and your claims of being able to get rid of him, "exterminate" him.

And I'm doing everything I can possibly do to keep him at bay.

The only way I could truly get rid of him permanently is to actually kill him. And believe me, I'm not the only one here who has allowed that thought to cross their mind.

b) Your former claims have users noting hypocrisy, which in turn makes it that much harder to take you seriously.

Are you suggesting I actually kill him?

After all, I did previously consider that as a possible solution.

I'm pretty sure Dex would get way more down votes for his CAKE CAKE posts, trolls or not. lol

24 down votes isn't too awful for a forum where some people have admitted to having 40 socks.

You got the most votes for Queen of SC. You weren't even here.

Socio got 22 votes for King. I figured that was a good indication of the size of his sock puppet army. Like who would vote for him? XD

That's why I suggested setting the upper limit before deleting a lame dex post so high. To compensate for the abundance of troll accts. here.

Votes are easily puppeteered, while posts not only show how that specific user feels but also why they feel that way.

I never understood why people went for the thumbs up/thumbs down approach for actually accomplishing anything here when it's such an easily abused system.

Edit: The De-Mod Reaper topic also had an ahead start, sixteen days worth.
