A new theory on Suicide

None... that I can think of. I am agnostic.

Anyways... I am eating lamb lung and heart at the moment, with a nice mango chutney. Full of nice bacteria, presumably.

Drowning is not a "natural cause".

BTW, these sheep organs are delicious...

Excellent. You are living proof of your own experiment that it can work.

Quite something.

What is that you identify with AsPD though? Just out of curiosity...other than what has been gleaned by the by..

A new theory on Suicide

by MrDelta

I got a bipolar with psychotic features diagnosis. That occurred in the ER.

I am now aware that the 4 years prior, at least, I was clinically depressed with no diagnosis.

I believe and so does another doctor, that I might be more of a schizophrenic.

Of all the personality disorders, the closest one I fit is aspd. It is the only one I fit. however during the majority of my life, I have done everything possible to avoid any stigmas or accept any help handed down from the institution.

This may be the first month out of at least 12, where the voices inside my head have basically stopped being annoying or stressful, and are nearing total disappearance. My moods are a little up and down, a little bipolar, but nothing like they were a year ago...

Were you on meds at any time for the depression? Was that perhaps part of the psychotic break coupled with BP. Schizophrenia and auditory hallucinations. Must be challenging to separate perceptions or question yourself as that is valid or not?

Came across a Dr who treated schizophrenia patients and in some cures were complete. Canadian, interesting man and very empathic. Will see if I can find his information again if you want it.

Orthomolecular medicine may interest you then. Used with success for treating mental illness.

I don't blame you to not want the anti psychotics, they are hideous with the side effects. Some are permanent and others bring on Parkinsons like disease and symptoms.

Seems that you have it under control and being aware is more than half the battle.

Enjoy your train of thought at times, spins out all over creation, and very interesting.

I still slip into delusional states however I can recognize it and force myself out of that line of thinking. I just can't allow myself to entertain certain thoughts.

My nutritional changes have been highly beneficial. I am never touching those anti-psychotics ever again. They are too heavy. I don't trust them.

No, I was never on any meds for the depression. This is what I am saying I probably was in hindsight. Self evaluation. Based on how much energy, awareness, and well being I have today compared to the past.

I am technically probably still low functioning, which is the basis for what I consider clinical depression. I'd rather not discuss the rest. I am leaps and bounds better than I was one year ago and I only see continual progress in the immediate future.

Okay clearly if this were correct. Then perhaps funeral directors and embalmers would have high rates of suicide?

I can't find those statistics, however, are those professions largely involved in the sterilization and preservation of the dead?

They are probably immaculate when compared to other health workers, I don't know...

If they are largely involved in the total sterilization of the dead, then it is at least proof that death and sadness surrounding ones career is no precursor to suicidal thoughts.

If they do not sterilize the dead, then clearly I am wrong... unless they have high rates of suicide which I simply cannot find data on. In which case, it is still a toss up between sadness and death, and as Shimmer puts it, empathy which leads to suicidal thoughts.

Here is at least mention that Butchers have high rates of suicide.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3642721/

Other occupations with suicide rates that increased significantly or sharply (>40%) over time were also mainly manual trades and occupations; including plasterers, fork-lift truck drivers, dustmen and refuse collectors, dockers and stevedores, road construction workers and butchers.

All the others can easily be said to be compromising their immune systems with toxic pollutants. The top suiciders from that report are...

We found that several of the occupations with the highest suicide rates in Britain during the late 1970s and the early 1980s were veterinarians (ranked first), pharmacists (fourth), dentists (sixth), doctors (tenth) and farmers (thirteenth).

Well at the very least researchers have discovered that people who commit suicide has distinctly different brains.

http://www.npr.org/programs/death/980429.death.html

After a decade of work studying over 175 brains, the research group in New York has found that the serotonin braking system is defective in many suicide victims. Their brains are anatomically different than the brains of people who have died of natural causes. Specifically, Aranga has discovered a malfunction in the area of the brain right above the eyes called the pre-frontal cortex, the place where executive decisions are made dictating what feelings we will act upon and what feelings we will inhibit.

Here we go... here is the stuff you want to read...

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn23566-suicidal-behaviour-is-a-disease-psychiatrists-argue.html#.VCFPf5RdWSo

Suicidal behaviour is a disease, psychiatrists argue

As suicide rates climb steeply in the US a growing number of psychiatrists are arguing that suicidal behaviour should be considered as a disease in its own right, rather than as a behaviour resulting from a mood disorder.

They base their argument on mounting evidence showing that the brains of people who have committed suicide have striking similarities, quite distinct from what is seen in the brains of people who have similar mood disorders but who died of natural causes.

Suicide also tends to be more common in some families, suggesting there may be genetic and other biological factors in play. What's more, most people with mood disorders never attempt to kill themselves, and about 10 per cent of suicides have no history of mental disease.

Now this should scare the fuck out of all you fat people...

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/262226.php

Obesity has been officially recognized as a disease by the American Medical Association, an action that could put more emphasis on the health condition by doctors and insurance companies in order to minimize its effects.

The new decision was made at the AMA's annual meeting on Tuesday by delegates in Chicago, and went against a recommendation by a committee that had studied the subject.

Dr. Patrice Harris, a member of the association's board commented in a statement, "Recognizing obesity as a disease will help change the way the medical community tackles this complex issue that affects approximately one in three Americans."

Imma going to go write a book, about aliens that travel through space, and infect the human race, mind controlling those who are infected to roll up into cocoons and kill themselves so the infection can fester and grow inside the host, only to burst out as a full fledged alien later on.

Did I ever tell you about my theories regarding the plague in the middle ages, and how it used to be very common to "hoard" the dead bodies of relatives in open caskets in underground mega city necropolis?

I mean, here is a clue everybody... don't pick up or touch dead rotting animals, why? because they are infected with the nastiest shit you will ever know... It's not like picking up a rotting apple, or a rotting vegetable.

It's a formerly living thing whose immune system has shut off, lost the big fight, and is being ravaged with disease that has been suppressed for years, sometimes decades.

I could be wrong, for sure... but... hey, why not say it?

Why yes, it has been at least a few hours since my last hard on.

I might just go and stand in front of the mirror for a moment, and project.
