The Big Bang Theory is the worst show running (if it is still running). I honestly didn't think television so contrived and formulaic still whet the appetite of the viewing public. It may look like a late 80's early 90's sitcom (Seinfeld, Roseanne etc... ) but it certainly isn't written like one.

It's one joke, over and over and over again - "We're smart!"

The main problem of the show is that every character seems to think that they have to help Sheldon with his narc bullshit. What they should do is simply stop going over to his apartment, and Leonard should move out (the roommate agreement is played out). After 7 or 8 seasons everyone doing what Sheldon wants seems kind of forced.

Family Guy has a certain non-sequitur, surreal comedy that could never be called formulaic. The stories themselves, yeah, they have a pretty basic structure. Other than that, it's still more original (and funnier) than The Big Bang Theory.

What about you, Sugar? What are you watching, apart from your weight?

"Family Guy has a certain non-sequitur, surreal comedy that could never be called formulaic."

The character personalities used to feel more fresh, but eventually they became just recycled gags personified.

It happened around the time the series officially diagnosed Peter as retarded. Suddenly Stewie didn't desire world domination, Brian became just a political bigot, Lois became a party girl, Meg personified her "least popular character" status literally, and Chris became a film buff.

I love their time travel plots and the episodes where Brian is a Debbie Downer, but I am more fond of American Dad's approach.

Yeah... The only thing Big Bang Theory has on Family Guy is less instances of "Simpsons Did It".

I haven't followed it for about two years, but I stick by it as the best animated sitcom ever though.

I liked Black Books when I was younger, you can only laugh at the jokes once though.

The amount of children's shows I'm seeing here is worrying. I think you all might be mentally ill.

Hey, some of them are so baffling that they take your mind into another place. Yo Gabba Gabba for example has had some crazy guest stars and otherworldly moments:

I get that. Watching kids shows for the pure craziness of them is acceptable. But actually investing the characters and the narrative is sad.
